I dont watch it
I really couldn't care less about any of the ASB festivities

I don't know how the Cubs upgrade their rotation--aren't Hendricks / Hammel two of the very best #4 and #5?
august fagerstrom
12:26
Pretty much, though Hammel could be upgraded. Mentioned this in my piece today
The problem's 100% been the rotation, but it sure doesn't seem like the rotation *is* a problem, if that makes sense

12:27
Half way point of the season, who do you think survives each league and makes it to the W.S.?
august fagerstrom
12:27
I agree with the projections -- the two best teams in each league, right now, look like the Cubs (still) and the Indians to me
Josh
12:27
Byron Buxton breaks out in : A) the second half B) 2017 or 2018 C) Never
august fagerstrom
12:27
Should probably look for any signs of life before a breakout

Saw Santana muffed a play at 1B...the return of Bro-hio???? I'm available.
august fagerstrom
12:28
actually not! I believe you recently took the year off to spend time with family

A CLE sportswriter said on the radio that Naquin is a trade chip at the deadline. Is there some merit to that thought or is this sportswriter overvaluing Naquin?
august fagerstrom
12:28
He was certainly a pre-season trade candidate. Now that he's a Rookie of the Year candidate, it makes the former less likely
Eric
12:29
Jake Lamb as biggest All-Star snub?
august fagerstrom
12:29
or Crawford
Mike
12:29
what does it say about the state of these fangraph chats that the guys seem genuinely concerned when bork doesn't say hello at the start
august fagerstrom
12:29
says I love Bork
Friend of Bork
12:29
He mentioned in chat he was becoming a father soon! Maybe that? Although cmon Bork...priorities.
august fagerstrom
12:29
maybe this is it!

What types of questions are you looking for in these chats? Is there any particular area that is a specialty/interest of yours which you would prefer to discuss?
august fagerstrom
12:30
Only ones that I routinely pass over are fantasy and prospect, because I don't have enough information to answer either with any degree of certainty
any and all other baseball or life questions are welcome

Going to see Radiohead in NYC in two weeks. Would you prefer seats or floor tickets if given the option? Also, did you know Kyle Lohse is still pitching in the bigs? Is he the pitching equivalent to Willie Bloomquist?
august fagerstrom
12:30
Floor, always
12:31
when Radiohead played Bonnaroo in 2012, I got to the pit ~5 hours early and missed two shows I wanted to see at other stages to get front row for Radiohead
one of my better choices. Enjoy the NYC gig.
12:32
I'm eagerly awaiting the announcement of a date near me

Are Indians fans perplexed with Kipnis or do you just appreciate his solid value despite what type of hitter he is year to year?
august fagerstrom
12:33
He played through injury in 2014. Beside that, when he's healthy, he's pretty much a 110 wRC+ guy
Nice little player
Nelson
12:33
Why are Lefty pitchers such a big deal, when the majority of people in the world are righties?
august fagerstrom
12:33
think you just answered your own question

12:33
What is Dan Vogelbachs value in a deal? Obviously he has more value to an AL team. But he's not a centerpiece nor is he a throw in, right? What is his trade value
august fagerstrom
12:33
yeah, complementary piece
12:34
first basemen/DH never gonna have great trade value
Matt
12:34
If you had concerns about the Rangers right now, what would they be?
august fagerstrom
12:34
everyone that's not a hitter or Cole Hamels, basically
PATRICK
12:34
What do the royals give up fo rich hill
august fagerstrom
12:34
not sure the Royals should be looking to buy, tbh
Phil

Especially given the lack of available starting pitching this winter, doesn't it make sense for the Nationals to trade big Gio or Roark? You're never going to be able to get a higher return on them and the nationals presumably will be able to throw in Giolito, Lopez or Voth into the 5th role next year.

Obviously their depth takes a hit, but would you shop them?
