No reason at this point to rule them out.

Was there interest in Matt Harvey?
Bill Brink
12:43
I don't think there was interest in giving up anything of value for him; had he cleared waivers, they might have thought about it, but it's not like Harvey has been good for some time now.

The roles on this team settling in with maybe the 5th starter and resulting changes being the next biggest thing?
Bill Brink
12:44
It would appear so. I don't think the relief roles were ever a problem (A month and a half in, Kontos gives some cause for concern) but more that relievers just weren't getting outs. When Musgrove comes back, and when they need a fifth starter, and whether or not those two things happen at the same time, will be the next non-injury move, it appears.

Yes/no, any chance Bell gets sent to AAA if he continues to struggle?
Bill Brink
12:44
I don't think so.
King Ham
12:45
Just how long has Kuhl extended his rope with that brilliant outing? Kingham looks like Trevor Williams with better strikeout stuff, and Kuhl would be lights out with 98-100mph heat and that slider in the late innings. Doesn't hurt to have depth, but just seems like a foregone conclusion that Kuhl will continue having his ups and downs.
Bill Brink
12:46
Kuhl's potential as a starter is high enough that I really don't think they'll pull the plug on him yet, at age 25. It would take some sustained bad performance and health from the rest of the rotation for them to send him to the bullpen and if that's the case I think it's still a ways off.

Chance of signing Corey Dickerson long-term?
Bill Brink
12:47
Seems like it depends on Meadows, doesn't it? I don't think they want to block him ... unless they want to move one of the other outfielders, which would open a spot.

Could you comment on the list of top prospects put out by Baseball America verses the true prospects.  It seems like there is a disconnect to me.
Bill Brink
12:48
I don't know exactly what you mean by disconnect, but I'll take a guess: Baseball America weighs prospects both in terms of current chances to help the major league team and total potential. So you might see a guy in triple-A on the cusp of a call-up right next to a 19-year-old in short-season ball. It's a balancing act.

Dickerson is potential yearly All Star; do you agree?
Bill Brink
12:49
I agree he's got a case this year. For me, yearly All-Star is a lofty moniker to put on a guy, reserved for the best of the best, so I don't know that I'm ready to go there just yet.

Am I reading into it too much that Kingham going down may be partially to open up a spot start for me? Seems like Musgrove won't be ready by May 19, and while Kingham could just come back for a spot start, unless the starters have a bad outing in that homestand, seems like a good bridge opportunity.
Bill Brink
12:49
Sorry, Tyler. I think the 19th belongs to Nick. Hope you're enjoying Chicago.
12:50
That's it for today, thanks for all the great questions!  We'll do it again next week.
