While noting that I haven't been on the road and Chicago or Arizona (I hook up with the team back home for the Reds series), they were frustrated with their poor play but not despondent or angry. They know they're not playing well but attempt to approach each day as an opportunity to right the ship. I'll give my usual caveat about the clubhouse, though: They know exactly when the media is allowed in there and when we're not, so what we see isn't necessarily an accurate representation.

I'll always remember something Nutting told me once, when he was searching for a club president in 2007: "People that I respected, respected Frank." Something would have had to change for him to think he's not the right man for the job. Is it possible the record and attendance and revenue are enough? Yes, but no way to know.
