Whoops.
1:01
$95.9 million for end-of-year 2015, an increase of $7.6 million from opening day.

Is this winning streak saving Hurdle's job?
Mark
1:02
If Pirates make post season, does Hurdle get manager of the year?
Bill Brink
1:05
Hurdle wasn't going to get fired. He got an extension last season and short of some massive issue or insubordination I don't think this front office would want to pay two managers. Manager of the year voting is tough to quantify, but he'd probably end up in the conversation -- though, before you all come at me with torches and pitchforks, I'm not saying deservedly so.

Given your list of next years SP, Glasnow done as a SP?

Glasnow’s future as a Pirate?
Bill Brink
1:06
I'm uncertain as to what he could show them in spring training next year as a starter that would convince them to put him over one of the other guys. I'll never say never, but I see it as less likely.

With the game starting in 15 minutes have you ever considered doing an in game chat?
Bill Brink
1:08
We did one several years back for the World Series and there wasn't much interest, possibly because the Pirates weren't playing in that particular World Series. Is that something you guys would like? The trick is it can't be a game I'm covering, because then I wouldn't be paying full attention to the game, and now that Liz is going Good Will Hunting on us those are fewer than in the past.
1:09
Yes, I know Will Hunting worked at MIT. I couldn't think of another movie about Harvard.
Stealing Harvard.
Love old school Jason Lee. Anyway.

What do you think the chances are of the Pirates catching the Cubs?  I like them to pass the Brewers in the standings over the next 15 games or so
Bill Brink
1:10
Despite losing two in a row, the Cubs are playing good ball, so it'll take some doing. They'll need to take the two-game series here next week, then do well at home in mid-August. Who knows where everyone will be when they head to Wrigley in the final week of September.

What does it say about Pirates ownership that the Rooney's are willing to pay Lev Bell an insane amount of money and completely overpay and Nutting does not want to pay anyone over 11 million a year?
Bill Brink
1:12
It says the two leagues operate with a different economic structure. There are several legitimate criticisms of the way the Pirates spend their money -- I've included some in my work, our columnists have written about others -- but the apples-to-oranges comparison between sports is not one I find compelling.

What percentage of questions do you get that you cannot use because they are pranks?
Bill Brink
1:13
It's funny, I answer some of the prank questions because I don't know they're pranks or don't get the jokes, and some legitimate questions are so bonkers I leave them out because I think they're pranks. I do get texts from friends from time to time asking why I didn't answer their questions.
1:14
That's it for today, thanks for all the great questions! We'll do this again next week and dissect all the moves at Tuesday's deadline.
