Is surplus value treated differently at the ends of the spectrum? Like, if I have a $50 Betts (worth $60) or a $1 Verdugo (worth $11), is that the same from a value standpoint? Sounds stupid, but I feel like Betts is still more valuable.

One thing I've kept an eye on as a Trout owner is his price relative to how his owner places. There's such a thing as the A-Rod in Texas effect. If a player is profitable by a pricing model but prevents you from rostering enough of a supporting cast, then the surplus is misleading.
