Presently, I'm not very concerned.
Carlos Carrasco has a terrible fastball too
But he uses his offspeed stuff well to hide it. So too with Bieber.
See! You! Later!
4:24
What are your thoughts on Ron Shandler?
Brad Johnson
4:25
He's the patron saint of fantasy players.

Speaking of Pivetta, who do you think could be this year’s version of him (gets super hyped and becomes waiver wire fodder by middle of the season)?
Brad Johnson
4:25
Ah well, there's always a pitcher or 10 who fall in this bucket.
Dinelson is a prime candidate
The hype is... strong

Am I a moron for taking Shohei with pick 115 in the NFC cutline championship?
Brad Johnson
4:25
Is that a weekly format?
4:26
Or one of those Friday sub-ins?
If the latter, it's a great value imo
Opinions!
4:26
This year's Pivetta = Dinelson Lamet
Brad Johnson
4:26
I'm not alone in immediately going to this well

What do you think about Snell this year? In a 5x5 H2H I can keep him for $3 or Shane Bieber for $11. Struggling with the decision.
Brad Johnson
4:27
Oh... I think the Snell +$8 is correct
I'm sad you have to cut one

Outside of the obvious top 5 in FYPD, why am I enamored with Corbin Carroll at 6 (and think I would consider him higher)? 70 grade speed at least, great hit tool, and posted 92 MPH average exit velocity as 18/19 so he may have sneaky raw power in there. You like him or Greene/Bleday/Pena at that spot?
Brad Johnson
4:28
Fine with Carroll, Bleday, or Greene. No preference
Pena's a short step below them imo
Wade Davis
4:28
Announced at COL closer. Worth adding?
Brad Johnson
4:28
In the sense that anybody garnering saves has some value, yes
Hell, he might even be passably playable
4:29
Just keep in mind the Rockies have every reason to prevent him from getting too many saves. His option vests based on games finished.
I forget the exact number needed.

Standard Roto redraft - Yelich or Trout? Thanks!
Brad Johnson
4:30
I'm of the opinion that going non-Trout is overthinking it
But to each their own

Does your C strategy change at all in 10 team, 2 C leagues? Or is it shallow enough that I can just wait...? Thanks!
Brad Johnson
4:30
Actually, this is a format where I'm more willing to aggressively target catchers knowing that other positions are extremely easy to patch throughout the year.
4:31
So I would target at least one of the top guys. Grabbing two can be a coup.
But... in recent years the top rated guys aren't always the top performers...

Its the best ball weekly format
Brad Johnson
4:32
Ah that's a shame. He's harder to manage in weekly. I'm also not clear on how that works. He's auto-magically added to one side or the other? You have to pick ahead of time? Haven't pondered this dilemma yet.

Freeman+9th round pick vs Gleyber? 16 team, 6 keeper H2H categories
Brad Johnson
4:32
I'd probably just keep Freeman unless there's some other driving force like you own Alonso too.
4:33
Around the top 100 guys kept so you don't have to worry too much about Gleyber outperforming Freeman in 2023.
4:34
Other good, young players will find their way onto your roster by then

Hey Brad, I just took over a dynasty roto team (15 TM league). Last year the team finished ninth and doesn't really have a shot of competing this year. Every team can keep as many players as they want and those keepers are front loaded in this years draft. Do you think I should keep as few players as possible so I can try to load up on prosepcts (Witt Jr, Rutschman, Vaughn) or keep all of my middling players and try to find value elsewhere?   Thanks!
