Every time I open the chat early, it always amazes me how quickly I start getting questions.
Took 10 seconds
3:46
The new thing of the hour is Sam Travis. He's joining the Red Sox.
I haven't looked into why he's joining the team - seemingly HanRam and Moreland are healthy enough to absorb all/most of the 1B/DH work
3:47
As for who he is as a player, I think he may have some initial contact issues before he figures things out. Some power, but less than you'd expect from a 1B. More speed than you'd expect, but still not much
3:48
Like I said, the history of high averages in the minors might not show up immediately.

In a hypothetical Space Jam for baseball, nine players would the MonStar team siphon for skills? And what manager?
Brad Johnson
3:48
Ha, I like this question...
3:49
Catcher - Buster Posey
1B - Paul Goldschmidt
2B - Jose Altuve
SS - Trea Turner
3B - Manny Machado
LF - Bryce Harper
CF - Mike Trout
RF - Mookie Betts
Manager - Buck Showalter
And, of course, Kershaw
3:50
As you can tell, I went with the all athleticism team
Plus luck dragon Showalter

Did anyone vote against your lopsided trade last week?
Brad Johnson
3:50
I've been doing a veto segment on another site this week. I do not allow vetoes in my league.
3:51
Anyone making a trade that needs to be vetoed is removed from the league
I'll do that myself

3:51
Brad, is there any hope for Gsellman? My rotation is in tatters, and he's been a major part of it
Brad Johnson
3:51
Hope? I suppose there's some hope. His velo played way up in relief. Not so sure he'll have magically solved his woes after two relief appearances

You ok with getting Senzel and Urias for Encarnacion and Giles in a 14 team dynasty where you are NOT competing soon? Thanks for the chat!
Brad Johnson
3:52
Yea, I guess. Not feeling super compelled to make that swap, but if it's the best available, it's not bad
don't want to get caught holding EE
and closers...

Best second half saves stashes? Rivero? Vizcaino? Others?
Brad Johnson
3:53
Easily Rivero
Maybe Hand

A few of the Cubs have gotten off to slow starts (Rizzo, Zobrist, Contreras, Addy). Are there any you're concerned about?
Brad Johnson
3:53
Zobrist is old. Cliffs happen.
3:54
Meanwhile, the league's hitters are running away from him with all their power
so yea, I'm a tad worried about him
he's already marginalized in 12 team formats
Contreras being young might not figure it out this year
Addy may finally skip a growth season
Choos on First
3:55
why hasn't anyone talked about what an awesome job Allen Cordoba has been doing with the Padres?
Brad Johnson
3:55
I can only assume it's a combination of not caring about the Padres, poor visibility (for same reason), and not believing in the output.
Which, to be clear, I don't believe

ive never heard of sam travis, had to look him up. apparently he crushes lefties so likely a platoon for moreland
Brad Johnson
3:56
good point. A platoon does make sense, just kinda figured they'd want him hitting every day
I guess they're feeling pressure to get a lead in that division

I am trading Alex Wood and Andrus for Daniel Murphy (which clears a spot to get Rich Hill off the DL). My biggest weakness on offense is BA. This is a no-brainer right (Trea is my SS)?
Brad Johnson
3:56
I'd regret losing Wood, but yea
