Luke Getsy would be a great get, in my humble opinion. Checks a lot of boxes, as "they" say. Also a big Tee Martin guy here. Don't believe he's had any connection to Pittsburgh since 2001, but hey, noted former Steeler in my book.

Brian....Would I be correct in thinking that of all the guys who left the program after Stallings was fired, only Ryan Luther is really missed? Wouldn't Marcus Carr be a #3 guard at best?

Hi, Gary. I was actually thinking about that last night as I watched Johnson and McGowens slice through Louisville's defense like a Ginsu blade. Marcus Carr and Parker Stewart have some solid qualities, but yeah, I wouldn't take either one over Pitt's current backcourt tandem. Stewart could probably still help you out on the wing, given his shooting. But yes, Ryan Luther would be a huge help for this team. Other than that ...

Still saying more traditional, but can't you envision him grinning at an introductory press conference after hiring a candidate with sterling credentials and saying something along the lines of, "Well, I guess even an old school guy like me had to adapt at some point"? I can.

That's what Gary is here for, yes. I still don't think this would be an NCAA tournament team, but hey, you never know. Maybe they win at Iowa? Maybe they win at West Virginia? I feel good about saying they wouldn't have lost to Niagara by a bucket.

I'd love to see it too, and yes, I think we will. Someday. It might be a while, but he strikes me as the type of man who doesn't sugarcoat much of anything and would love to just shoot someone straight on this.
