A few people have asked me this irl, and I honestly think it's UVA winning both on the road. And while I predicted earlier in this exercise that the Hoos will win at GT this week, I don't feel great about it. Wasn't real impressed with them last Friday night in Charlottesville. So yeah, I feel more strongly that UVA can't go 2-0 than I do that Pitt can avoid going 0-2, if only slightly.

With Elijah Zeise graduating this year and Paul Zeise doing a little more college football writing are you worried that next year he will be back on the Pitt football beat and you will be left covering Girl Scout chocolate chip cookie baking contests?

Oh yeah, I'm just getting ready to hand this baton back to my guy PZ. Hope the readers have enjoyed my coverage these two seasons. We're actually on our third Pitt football writer and second sports editor since Paul was on the beat, but hey, I'm just keeping the seat warm. i'll be happy to take his role in the swap.

Girl scouts make chocolate chip now?  I'm in

I just had half a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin. Chocolate chip anything gets a thumbs up from me.

If Pitt wins these next 2 games, is the Clemson game a top 25 matchup, and regardless of that outcome, do they lock in a Tier 1 bowl?
Brian Batko

Would be shocked if Pitt, at 8-4 and heading to the ACC Championship, isn't ranked. And to my knowledge, it wouldn't do anything officially for them bowl-wise, but for all intents and purposes, yeah, they'd be looking at a Tier 1: Belk, Music City, Gator, Sun or [teeth chatter] Pinstripe

Has Ffrench emerged as Pitt's #1 WR? Definitely between him and Mack in my opinion but it seems like Ffrench can "out athlete" almost anyone. Would love to see Kenny take shots to him when he's one on one, even if its a 50/50 ball.

I still think Mack might be a more well-rounded, traditional No. 1, but Ffrench might very well be Pitt's best all-around offensive player, if that makes sense. His ball skills and route-running have impressed me, though.

I know that we still need to win, but do you see a path to victory with Clemson?
Brian Batko
2:56
Not really, but I didn't two years ago, either.

I enjoyed the Military Bowl in Annapolis.  Great venue, easy drive

I wasn't covering the team yet for the P-G, but that's what everyone says. Selfishly, I'd be fine with it.

It seems like you keep talking highly of the WF offense. What about their defense? Will this be another slice and dice like VT?
Brian Batko
2:58
They played inspired enough last week to upset NC State, but that seems like an anomaly. For most of the year, they've been a BT defense: Barely there. HC Dave Clawson fired his DC midseason. Pitt should push them around if they could do it to UVA and VT.

Is it possible for Pitt fans to just enjoy the game?  First time Pitt vs WF have ever met on gridiron.  Geesh

This is true. A long-awaited clash of titans.

Tata here, so does Pitt keep the task at hand on Sat and clinch?
Brian Batko

Hello, Tata. I will say yes, Pitt beats Wake, but doesn't cover the minus-7 spread. A fine day for offenses, perhaps, but Pitt wins 38-35.
OK all, thanks again for another great one. Be nice to your neighbors and enjoy the game.
