Hey, Owen. I'd take Tommy Carcetti in office right now, if possible. But he's still waking up fake in a world that ain't. Didn't see anything more than our usual 30-minute viewing window yesterday morning, but Taysir Mack hasn't had any noticeable hangups lately. No treatment or rehab or anything from what I see.

Name another true freshman you think will play
Brian Batko
2:50
There might not be any more, but I'll say Kaymar Mimes. He's providing depth at the weakest position right now, so I guess he's most likely to get a snap here or there in case of injury or whatever.
2:51
(Kaymar Mimes is a tight end now after being recruited as a DE)

Hello Brian.. does Pitt bring out anymore secret weapons this week? Might as well play everyone, who knows the next time youll be in this position..

What up, L? They're gonna throw a fade route to Bill Hillgrove's bobblehead.
Chris

Thinking about the game Saturday makes me want to throw up.  I am so scared! (I was on the sidelines, as a fan, against Cincinnati with a box of Domino sugar...)
Brian Batko

I'm really sorry to hear that, Chris. All of that, really.
Bill Hillgrove Bobblehead Day!

How come we haven't seen more of Amir Watts post-Camp injury? Feels like it's strange that we've seen them trying to go with a younger rotation despite Watts having a decent start to the season (plus a big boy pick)
Brian Batko
2:53
For all of Amir Watts' strengths, I'm not sure consistency as we near the end of his junior year is one of them. It's also possible that they like what he brings vs. some offenses and not others. Still, I think that rotation is, and will be for a while, pretty competitive with Jaylen Twyman, Devin Danielson, et al.

If Ollison is still banged up would they use Davis or someone else when Hall needs a break?
Brian Batko
2:55
Good thought, DJ. I guess I'd still lean toward AJ Davis, but he got Kenny Pickett crushed by not picking up a blitz on one of his few snaps Friday night. But in terms of a true runner out of the backfield, I don't know that Todd Sibley or Mychale Salahuddin or even V'Lique Carter is more likely to be used in that role. Not yet from what we've seen, at least.

Do you think the issue with the passing game is that the running game has been too good as of late, or a lack of talent? If the team can improve on the air game we may have a bright future (for once)
Brian Batko
2:56
If anything, the running success should be helping and opening up that half of the offense. I don't think they're hiding anything, to answer your question (maybe)

Why doesn’t Pitt give free seats to every WPIAL football team? It would fill the stands with kids, teachers and parents. It might even help recruiting....
Brian Batko
2:57
Nice idea, but don't you think that'd be a slippery slope? Don't do that much to hurt the demand for your own product. But hey, maybe they could do more of that kind of thing.

Not this year with our senior tail backs but what kind of potential do you see in Todd Sibley
Brian Batko
2:58
I really liked Todd Sibley's tape/makeup/traits coming out of high school. Kind of surprised he hasn't made more of an impact by this point, honestly, but he's still young. And Pitt's senior tailbacks have been so good that it's made it easy/obvious for the coaches to be patient at that position (which usually isn't).

How is Virginia Tech's run defense? That seems important
Brian Batko
2:59
No better than UVA's, at least not statistically.

can Pitt get consistent pressure on Willis ?  was nice to see Hendrix in the mix las week.  will he keep it up ?

If I knew that, Teej, I'd be betting on the game. But I'm just about out of time, so I guess I'll make my much-anticipated prediction now: Pitt 24, VT 21. If I'm wrong yet again, it'll be to Pitt's demise, this time around. Thanks for taking some time out, folks.
