I get it...Mason was once replaced by a duck.  But are we pounding him like a case of 16 oz. beers too soon?  Maybe he has grown from that experience and maybe with some more experience behind center he

is better than we think? (JoeCo's question got cut off, but he was asking if Rudolph is better than we think). Yeah, of course that's possible. I just don't think it's particularly likely, because the physical tools really haven't impressed me, even the time or two we saw him this past season (and in preseason).  Not saying he shouldn't even be in the league or anything that drastic, but so far what I see is Just A Guy.

Do you think any of the QBs in this draft are better than what the Steelers already have? Best to draft for OL or DL and build for future?

Right now, maybe not. Kenny Pickett is widely viewed as the most NFL-ready one, but the Steelers (and other teams) have to weight that with whether he has enough upside for their liking. I'd leave open the option to go QB, if someone in particular falls to 20, but I'd rather get a foundational piece for the OL than trade up for any of the QBs. Granted, what the Steelers do (or don't do) in free agency will be a rather large foreshadowing in terms of their draft plans.

Thanks for the chats B.  I admit I know nothing about Teryl credentials but are we going down the same "promote from within" mentality we did with the unproven line coach and unproven OC?  What is so wrong with bringing in fresh ideas versus assistants, who if they are doing there jobs well, should be trying to influence their boss?  It is one thing to not do anything to improve a part of your team (running game) and watch the running game fail.  It is far worse to come out and say we are trying to improve the running game and it still stinks!

No, I think the difference here is that Austin's credentials would make him qualified for this role whether he was in-house or not. The other guys, not so much. Although Canada did bring in some of those "fresh ideas" you refer to.

Brian... has momentum changed with regards to Steelers drafting a QB?  Prior to Senior Bowl, the momentum seemed to be squarely around drafting a OL or DL with the 20th pick... it now feels like QB is a possibility.  Assuming their "man" is there at 20 (lineman and QB), which do they take?

I wouldn't say that. They always were going to do their due diligence on this QB class, right? Not sure seeing some photos/hearing quotes of Mike Tomlin meeting with Senior Bowl QBs changes that. It was always a possibility and still is, but no change in momentum, at least not for me. I'll say this though, if they have a "man" they're in love with at 20, and it's a QB, how could you not make that move? Just remains to be seen whether that QB is in this draft.

If Tomlin has a losing season this year assuming the current stable of QBs, what do you say the likelihood that he steps down?

like, 0.1%
