What free agent RBs might the Steelers have interest in that could free up their draft focus on OL and maybe DL or LB depth?
Brian Batko

Leonard Fournette showed he still has some tread on the tires, if the postseason was any indication, but he might be too expensive. As for cheaper options, maybe someone like Matt Breida can bounce back from a rough year? Mike Davis filled in admirably for Christian McCaffrey this past season. I doubt there's a big name that would really raise your eyebrows, though.

Does Berry get another year punting the ball or do we follow Rays prediction and draft a new leg?
Brian Batko

I'm with Ray on this one, but not in the draft. You can get a new punter without spending a pick on him. Or if you do spend a pick, make it your very last pick so that you can at least scoop the other punter-needy teams on UDFAs.

I enjoy the North Shore podcasts.

Thanks, David. We enjoy doing them. Or at least I do. Can't speak for Ray. Maybe I annoy him sometimes. It's very possible. But if anyone hasn't listened yet, feel free to check out the latest episode from Friday here. Lots of draft talk: https://t.co/7Yafk3hG9L?amp=1

Just curious...at the Batko household, what's the height of snow at which a man puts down the shovel and has to go with a snowblower.

No set amount, it's just a matter of whether my dear old dad feels like bringing over his snowblower or not. But I am trying to do a better job of keeping up on the snow accumulation as a third-year homeowner. First two winters, I'll be honest, I got lazy. I was one of those "let nature run its course on the driveway" kind of guys. But these last few weeks of snow have changed me. Gotta stay on top of it, scrape some ice and throw down some salt.

Hi Brian, What would be the best case scenario for the offensive line in free agency and the first 3 rounds of the draft. I think it would be good to get a tackle or center in free agency, then take the top O lineman available in the 1st round. Even if it’s a guard or center. I would take a lineman in the 1st round unless Najee Harris is still on the board. Steelers have had great success picking guards early in Faneca and Decastro.

Well, best case scenario for the OL would be to draft a lineman with all three top picks! But I don't think the Steelers will do that. It's an interesting debate, because Chuks Okorafor and Zach Banner could be your tackles. And at that point, do you really want to spend a high pick on an interior lineman? Maybe if it's a center. That's an important position on any line, but especially so when you factor in the lineage of the Steelers there.

Hi Brian!  Is the decision to bring back DeCastro tied in anyway to Pouncey’s retirement?  I think DD played through injuries last season and has more left in the tank.  Thoughts?
Brian Batko
2:54
Could be. Steelers might not want to part with two veteran linemen of that caliber in the same offseason. But for all we know, DeCastro's health last year was a problem and the team is confident he can rebound next season.

The only position that’s dumber to use a draft pick on than P is LS!

Colin Holba on line 1, Phil.

All right everyone, now that we got in a Colin Holba mention, I think that means it's time to go. Lots of good questions, lots of fun questions, and Ray Fittipaldo will be back tomorrow for more. As always, feel free to tweet me @BrianBatko or email me bbatko@post-gazette.com with any more thoughts, prompts, concerns, etc. Have a nic week.
