Not necessarily. Look at what the 49ers and Eagles have done with Brock Purdy and Jalen Hurts, respectively. Neither has gotten over the Mahomes hump, but they made the deepest of runs.

It's gonna be tough to sign a big-ticket free agent, especially on defense, with all the cap resources already invested in Watt, Heyward, Fitzpatrick, Highsmith. I think Queen is more likely because of his position. L'Jarius Sneed is great, don't get me wrong, but Joey Porter Jr. looks like he's gonna be that shut-down No. 1 corner for years to come. The whole idea of finding that type of player in the draft is so you don't have to pay a boatload of money to one.

Well, Kenny Pickett is married, so I'm gonna dismiss that idea. But Nate Herbig played alongside and learned a lot from Jason Kelce in Philly, so it might be up to Nick Herbig to follow in the footsteps of Travis to turn the Herbig brothers into the next NFL sibling power duo. Hopefully Nick has Olivia Rodrigo's number.
