Mentioned it above, but yes, I'm with you on liking the Flores hire. And it doesn't even have anything to do with all the outside factors you acknowledge. I just think this defense can and should be better than it was in 2021, so schematic adjustments are needed. Keith Butler was great at what he did, by all accounts, but getting new ideas and philosophies from outside is a prudent move. As for what this means for the Steelers in the court of public opinion, that depends on your perspective of course, but I think it will be well-received by players and coaches throughout the league from that standpoint.

Hello Brian, hope all is well.  How heavy are steelers in the FA market?  What positions do you think they will/should target?

Colbert said today he doesn't see them becoming a top-of-the-line spender, despite all the cap room they have. Then again, the Patriots were never that either, and then they went pretty wild last offseason. I'd say they could target just about any position, depending on the price tag of who they're pursuing, but if you're talking big bucks, I think I would reserve that for an offensive lineman or cornerback.

Mason Rudolph has been compared by many writers to Neil O'Donnell.  O'Donnell led Steelers to two AFC Championships and one Super Bowl.  I say Rudolph is your starter and let him prove his worth.  Draft Desmond Ridder in round 2 of the draft as your longer term solution at QB if Rudolph flames out.  Jury is still out on Haskins.  Appreciate your thoughts.  Thanks Brian!

Thanks, Chuck. I'm not completely out on Rudolph as an NFL starter, but I'm pretty close to it. Maybe the Steelers need to see more to get a full evaluation, but he's already started 10 games in this league. Haskins has started even more, but I agree, it seems like there's a bit more intrigue there considering he's two years younger. And sure, the Steelers should keep the option of Ridder or another guy who might slip to Round 2. That's called finding value in a draft.

Hi Bats! My son and I are taking a boys road trip to Pittsburgh in a couple weeks, any recommendations for must see Steelers sights beyond the Western PA Sports Museum and a bite at Primanti Bros? Thanks!

Gotta get a nice view of the city (and Heinz Field) from Mt. Washington or the West End Overlook.
OK folks, I'm all out of time. I'm sure we'll run it back next Monday at some point. Talk to you then.
