How do you divide up the beat with Ray Fittipaldo and Gerry Dulac? Do you all share sources, or do you each have your own who you get information from? It seems like most or all of your stories are single bylines, suggesting there's not a lot of teaming up, at least on individual pieces. With three reporters plus two or three columnists all covering the Steelers, I'm curious how you make it work.

As the Monday chat guy, I warn Ray what to expect, and then he passes on those warnings to Gerry.

With Kahn saying Jones is going back to left tackle in mind wouldn’t it be prudent to take the best center at 20 then find a right tackle (less coveted ) in round 3? Or possibly ride with Moore one more year?

I believe Omar Khan said Broderick Jones would go back to left tackle eventually, not necessarily this season, but of course he's not going to tip his hand entirely. It does give them flexibility to do what you suggest.

I don't buy that survey non-sense. Everyone loves to play for Tomlin - but everyone also hates the Rooneys - but everyone loves the Rooney rule - but no one wants to play for the Steelers because of the practice facility? Are these players really wanting for something? I have a hard time beleiving they are in need of equipment or treatment...

Nothing in there implies anyone "hates" the Rooneys. The ownership score was based on willingness of ownership to invest in improvements for the workplace, not how he treats players or families or whatever. And it's not indicating that players "don't want to play for the Steelers" because of a small/outdated facility or any other reason. But it's a comparison to the rest of the league. While the players might not be "wanting" for much, their concerns are all relative to their NFL counterparts with other franchises.

have Steelers hired a new WR Coach? Why not Hinds Ward maybe he could teach our primadonna WR’s to play the game the right way

I don't know. But on one hand, Hines Ward doesn't have much WR coaching experience in the NFL, at least not as much as Zach Azzanni. And maybe Hines Ward didn't want to coach here.

A lot of people are ready to jump ship with Kenny, dude was 7-2 last season on games he started. I will go to the well over and over and say Matt Canada was the worst OC in all of football (Including high school). He deserves a chance to see how he can do with a competent OC. He has negatives, ie pocket awareness, slow reads, but he isn't a finished product. We have too many holes to mortgage the future on our QB at this time. Need a C, OT, DL, ILB x2, CB, P, and maybe a safety. Bring in Tannehill and let Kenny ride!

Well, LSU Nate, I'm not quite as bullish on Pickett as you but in the grand scheme of things, we're on the same page. Or at least the same chapter. Not entirely ready to count him out just yet.

OK friends, that was another good hour in the Steeler chat factory. Ray Fittipaldo will be back tomorrow to keep hammering away. Thanks for stopping on by!
