Not really, but developing another blocking TE behind Zach Gentry isn't a bad idea. I personally wouldn't use a fourth-rounder on it this year, but Connor Heyward is far from a true in-line TE. He might even become more of a fullback type.

Have we really upgraded our ILB position?  It just looks like more of the same to me. What’s the earliest that you would expect us to draft ILB?

The jury is out for me. Cole Holcomb projects favorably with his skill set and Elandon Roberts should be a better between-the-tackles hitter than they've had since Vince Williams, but obviously they didn't get a slam-dunk veteran this offseason in free agency. There probably wasn't one out there other than Tremaine Edmunds. Could I see them drafting one as early as 32? Yes, but I could also see them rolling with Holcomb, Roberts and Mark Robinson.

Draft in KC this year; Detroit next year.
Any chance 2025 draft bring in the great city of Pittsburgh?

We've written about this in recent years. There does not appear to be a ton of urgency from the Steelers' perspective https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2019/06/25/nfl-draft-loca...

Is it safe to assume that Minkah will be covering TE's more instead of ill-equipped ILB's/Edmunds, with Kazee then playing deep middle?

No, I wouldn't assume that. Kazee is small, no doubt, but in my opinion he plays bigger and isn't afraid to mix it up over the middle. They'll tinker with the best ways to use Fitzpatrick, as they do each offseason, but it always makes sense to have a ballhawk like him in the post. And as I said earlier, I firmly believe they'll draft a player who can handle those matchups, too.

Tomlin stated that he likes having a smaller coaching staff. Yet not one of his assistants has become a head coach in 16 years. Do you think he likes a small staff because it gives him more control and less people to challenge him? It can’t be because he thinks the coaches are quality coaches.

Reading his explanation, it didn't make a ton of sense to me, to be honest with you. He'd rather over-work his coaches than under-work them? Maybe he was being facetious, but uh, that doesn't seem particularly logical or efficient. It's easier to keep everyone on the same page if you have fewer coaches? Well, sure, I guess. But if you're worried about communication and coordination at the expense of adding, say, two more bright football minds to the mix, I feel like that's not a great excuse.

OK folks, on that note, I'd rather not over-work myself in today's chat. Stop by for Ray Fittipaldo tomorrow and delight him with your questions. Cheers!
