Isn't every draft exactly that? It's an inexact science. There probably is something to be said for the Steelers' stability being at least a marginal advantage during this unconventional offseason. Also they have just one pick in the top 50 and it's barely there, so you're not exactly gearing up for a pressure-packed swing for the fences this year.

I see that MLB has decided that if there is no season, the players will get a year of credit on their contract towards free agency, etc. Has there been any thought to that by the NFL?

Not sure, DB. The NFL will have a ton of logistical hoops to jump through if this thing gets bagged. But I bet we'll still keep chatting every week about what the Steelers should do.

If a veteran QB were to sign for 2 million to be the number 3 guy/compete for number 2 behind Ben would Steelers do this?  It seems they have zero faith in Paxton Lynch and it would benefit the new guy to learn the system in training camp?  It seems there are a lot of above average QBs on the market now.

Art Rooney II said a couple months ago the Steelers weren't in the market to add an experienced QB. At that price, they might think about it, but what kind of player's gonna be willing to play for that price? Doubtful it'd be someone who's a clear upgrade over Rudolph. You're in Colt McCoy, Jeff Driskel territory there.

Thank you so much to all of you for doing these chats and helping us to escape from the reality of the real world outside.  It means more than you know.
Anyway... Are you as concerned as I am about the Steelers inability to stop the run as I am?  I felt there were too many holes up the middle last year.  I also feel we need more explosive players on offense.  What do you think?

We're here to serve you, Ratville. I don't think the run-stopping is much more of a concern than defending the pass, now that Vince Williams is slated to be a permanent starter at ILB again. As for explosive players on offense, yeah, I think this team needs a big-play threat.

would you trade down from 49th let’s say about 10 spots and get also in the process a pick in the range of 100-110, I will honestly cause at 59th I believe there will be still a good WR, RB or OL like at 49 probably.. and an extra pick could do wonders in the 100 range? Explain your thoughts Brian Thanks

I say trade out of the draft entirely so that I don't have anything to worry about for three days in April.

Well would you look at the time? We're up against it and I've got to run. Thanks as always for stopping by. I gotta go think more about Scuba Steve's Tiger King question. Have a good one.
