There's already enough CB depth on this team for my liking, outside and inside capable guys. WR is a need for sure, but at No. 20, is there really much separation between the options who are likely to be there? I wouldn't necessarily rule out an OT either if a good one slips.

Brian what do you think about us drafting Skyy Moore or Heywards brother
Brian Batko
2:48
Both seem almost too obvious and natural not to happen. Moore because of the Tomlin connection and he's at a position of need and he's just plain good. Heyward because of everything Cam has meant to this organization and how the Steelers value football character, versatility, etc.

We can get all the personnel to fit his offense, but it won’t matter if Matt Canada’s awful playcalling will continue. Will having Willis/Ridder/Pickett mean there’ll be more plays to run on 4th and goal from the 11 so that he won’t have to call a screen pass 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage?

Probably, yes. Having Trubisky will also allow him to open up the playbook more thanks to his mobility.

BB, Having grown up in Detroit, I know 1st hand what a terrible franchise looks like and the Steelers are light years better. I believe they will solidfy the trenches in this draft and get a WR, I can see a 10 win season with a mediocre QB this year.

Dang, Lions out here catching some strays in the chat. They better get it right at No. 2 overall, huh?

Sir, please inform me that the Steelers do not trust BF's personnel evaluation enough to overcome this franchise's epic inability to discern first round cornerback talent? I mean if Dick LeBeau could not help much, they should just keep poaching other team's secondary talent as a bedrock corporate philosophy, no?
Brian Batko
2:52
No, I don't think so. Maybe you do a deep dive internally to figure out why so many of those picks haven't worked out. Bad evaluation of medicals? Misread on character? Or something as simple as one of your scouts is good at finding some positions, but not so much cornerback? You can't just stop drafting a certain position. That's no way to build a roster.

If you were the Steelers GM what would you be willing to give up for DK Metcalf?
Brian Batko
2:55
Oh man, he's very good. Without taking too much time to think about it here, I'd probably do the "going rate" WR deal for him. A first-rounder, a second-rounder and change. He's younger, but just a notch below Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill for me.

sup Bats!  Canada’s offense was a bad look.  The excuse was, BR and personnel didn’t fit it.  When Plan A fails shouldn’t a good OC be able to go to Plan B?  Am I missing something??
Brian Batko
2:58
Yeah, I don't think he did a good job adapting to what he had, and that's supposed to be a calling card of his. But then again, what offensive coordinator/play-caller/coach anywhere would say "Yeah I need the right pieces or else it's hopeless." I'm willing to give him a do-over, so I do believe the Steelers made the right call on that, but the seat should be warm going into the season.

Who's the funniest Steeler you've interviewed?
Brian Batko

Hmm, off the top of my head Zach Banner has to be up there. Gonna miss having him around, especially since the locker room was closed the last couple years and he was injured for the most part anyway. Cam Heyward's got jokes. Najee Harris isn't a jokester, but he's just naturally hilarious.
OK folks, that's all the time we have for today. Ray Fittipaldo is on the docket tomorrow, so catch him then. I'm outta here.
