Love that energy, KS Steeler. Safety will probably be up there, as it always is until they sign some mid-level veteran free agent(s). Could certainly see ILB jumping back up to the list of needs, and even another OT to bookend Broderick Jones, when you think about how expensive Chuks Okorafor is about to become. When should I put out my 2024 mock draft?

Hi Brian Do you remember a few months back when I mentioned another possible "brother" act with the Herbig brothers playing for the Steelers? I was looking at the LB from Wisconsin, but mentioned that I watched Nate play for Philly and the Jets and he played like a OL with an attitude, laying out LBs and safeties on run plays and maybe the kid brother had the same drive. I'm looking forward to watching them play as Steelers.

Not sure I remember that specifically from you, Tom, but my mind also immediately went to that connection when the Steelers signed Nate Herbig. I have the old tweet to prove it. If the OL stays healthy, the elder Herbig might never see the field, but Nick strikes me as someone who can help right away. And no doubt it'll be fun to have both around, as they both seem to be gregarious and outgoing Island Boys.

Brian, What are thwt going to do about QB3?  Tanner Morgan is just a camp arm.

What do you want out of your QB3? A rookie with upside and tools but far from a finished product, those types were available late in the draft but the Steelers passed (and signed more of a "safe" guy in Morgan). A vet who can bring high football intellect but limited physical skills to the room? That pool is dwindling in free agency.

BB-  Amazing job nailing the trade up for Jones, you know your stuff!!  With the stellar draft by Khan and Tomiln, how long of a leash will Canada have this years if the Offense sputters like last year?

Thanks, Krut. I think the leash is short, but that was already the case going into the weekend. The draft didn't change that in my mind.

OK folks, that's all the time we have for today. So many more good questions (and compliments!) in the queue, so my apologies for not getting to all. But I'll have my mailbag posted Friday and Ray Fittipaldo will be in for some further chatting tomorrow. See you next week.
