Unlikely this summer, but a Warren contract is coming down the road if he continues to play at the level he has for the past two seasons.

Do you think Cam will still be a captain this season?  Or will his antics lead to the team picking a different captain?  Personally, I am hoping for the latter.

Well, TJ Watt was a captain in 2020. After he held in for almost all of training camp in 2021 he was not named a captain. (He was a captain again in 2022 and last season). S I guess it depends on how long Heyward wants to sit out. The Watt situation was unique because he didn't sign until two days before the season started, but there is nothing etched in stone saying Heyward has to be a captain just because he's been one for the past several years.

Good morning Ray.  Apparently the successor to Bill Hillgrove is still being considered.  Do you know if Craig Wolfley will be the color analyst or will that depend upon who will be the play by play announcer?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:04
My understanding is Wolfley will be back on the broadcasts this year.

Any chance Jones stays at RT and Fautanu sticks at LT?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:04
Yes, but I think they'd like for Fautanu to be the RT and Jones the LT. Just depends on how well Fautanu can make the transition to the right side.

Hey Ray, What are your thoughts on a juju reunion? I think he would be no better than a three or four receiver based on his production last year, and we already have plenty of those.
Ray Fittipaldo
11:06
I agree. They need a legit No. 2, not a 3,4 or 5.

It seems like an extension for Cam would be in both sides' best interest. Adding extra years to his deal would reduce his 2024 cap hit, thus helping the Steelers. And it would provide more money for Cam, thus helping Cam. What am I missing? Why is this controversial?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:08
Because he is 35 and coming off an injury-riddled season. Older players get injured more often than younger players so it's a bit of a risk to give an extension to someone in Heyward's position.

Ray, before Trice got hurt, was he playing the slot? Who plays the slot this year? Pat Pete or someone on the roster? I think Pat Pete is washed up.
Ray Fittipaldo

No he was outside. He's 6-3 and is built like a strong safety. As for the slot, I'm not sure their starter is on the roster yet. It could be Cam Sutton or Patrick Peterson. Beanie Bishop of WVU was signed as an undrafted free agent. He's in the mix along with veteran Josiah Scott.

Ray, if you could sit down with two or three former Steelers (dead or alive) for an in depth interview  who would they be?  Thank you.
Ray Fittipaldo

Jack Lambert, Chuck Noll and Franco Harris.

Is Fitzpatrick now the real leader in the locker room?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:11
And TJ Watt.
Ron Jeremy

Speaking of Jack Lambert, will he ever return to the team for a ceremony or anything? I know he wants to be left alone but at some point it would be great to see him back.
Ray Fittipaldo
11:15
I agree, but that's not really his thing.
11:16
Ok thanks for taking part in this week's chat. I have to head to practice. We'll do another chat next Tuesday.
