wow, is this true, big ben only has one touchdown pass in their two super bowl wins?  if thats correct he is vastly over paid, the steelers are crazy to give him some much money, by the way, that was years ago too !!!!

I feel like we're veering into shtick/satire/parody territory here, faithful chatter.

Hi Brian! Thanks for the chats! Is it time for the Steelers to put their money where their mouth is regarding the possible signing of Kaepernick? They did originate the Rooney rule and this would actually be a good signing from a football standpoint. I don't believe he will cost much and he could be an upgrade over Mason in time. What say you?

Mike Tomlin was asked specifically about Colin Kaepernick last year and didn't entertain the question much, saying he wouldn't talk openly about free agents not on the team. Right or wrong, I can't see Kaepernick playing in the NFL again. He's been out of the league for so long that I don't think a franchise will take that chance. Even Michael Vick wasn't sidelined for this long when he got suspended and went to prison.

As to your running back roster, have you forgot about Derrick Watt, or don't you think he makes the team?
Brian Batko
12:51
I'm just counting Derek Watt as a fullback, that's all.

Every other row with every other seat being used would be approximately 25%...I think.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm not a math major.

Just when the NFL thought the kneeling issue was behind them it has now come to the forefront again. Your thoughts on how the NFL will handle this this year and the Steelers.
Brian Batko
12:55
I don't think players who kneel will be ostracized or face any discipline at all, if that's what you're asking. And I don't expect individual teams to come down on those guys either. To me, these last couple weeks have been and will be a turning point for athletes speaking out on social issues, injustice, equality, and much more.

If Ben Roethlisberger had health issues this season and decided to retire before the 2021 season....What would the salary cap ramifications be for '21?
Brian Batko

The Steelers would have a lot of dead money, but they'd still save a lot, too. I've been thinking for a while now that Ben would love to win one more ring and then ride off into the sunset, retire on top. Easier said than done, of course.

Does 71 stay at RT given the draft and FA acquisitions?  If Chuks doesn’t start at RT, is his time limited or still time to develop given his young age?

Your OL probably has a higher upside if you can move Matt Feiler inside from RT to LG and rely on Chuks Okorafor or Zach Banner at RT, so I could see the Steelers trying to start with that combination first. But the higher floor is probably inserting Stefen Wisniewski at LG and keeping Feiler at RT, if that makes sense.
OK everyone, that's all the time we have for today. Good discussions, strong points and fine participation all around. Appreciate the civility, as always. Have a nice week.
