A non-trade question from earlier just to throw a change-up. Robert Woods is a high-character veteran player worthy of respect, but I just have no idea what he offers to an NFL passing game in 2025 at age 33. Or at least not an offense like this one that has DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III and ancillary or unproven pieces.

Hey Brian,  There has been much discussion about the starting offensive line for the Steelers, but in a long season its a given that the OL backups will play.  How does the depth at OL stack up and can the Steelers (and Rodgers) withstand it if there are periods when several back ups are playing at the same time?

Not too well at tackle, in my humble opinion. Ryan McCollum showed me something last year that makes me think he's a fine backup center. Spencer Anderson showed me he can be a backup swing guard at either spot, maybe even right tackle, too. But the options behind Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu, who are rather unproven at their new spots themselves, don't fill me with a ton of confidence.

Do you think Minkah is happy to be traded?

Leaning toward yes. His beef with Miami before was more about Brian Flores and how he was being used by that coaching staff, as I recall. But he still makes his home in that area and might not mind getting back there.

If you're left scratching your head here about the various scheme fits, the salary cap implications, the overall long-term vision, I don't blame you. I'm not sure I even disagree. But another way to look at it, particularly if you want to have black-and-gold glasses on, is that the powers that be looked at this roster, looked at the never-ending cycle of first-round playoff blowouts, and effectively decided this: These guys, the core we've so meticulously built, ain't good enough. We need more, better and different. Doesn't mean it'll work, but choices have been made and there have been some brash ones.
