I'm not opposed to adding another option to add competition in came, but to be honest, KMan, the available free agents don't appear to be clear-cut upgrades over Juan Thornhill. And if Jalen Ramsey is a piece of the puzzle at safety, too, then that's even one more body in the mix.

  1. was it a three year extension at $123M which would make it $41M per year after this year 2. A 4 year deal for $144M which would make it only $36M per year. If #2 is the case then he is not the highest paid non QB. Was getting more guaranteed money more important.

It's a new four-year deal for TJ Watt but because he was already under contract for this season, it's often explained/understood by/to the outside world as a three-year extension. After all, it is extending his time under contract in Pittsburgh by three seasons. So, in terms of the new money agreed to in this contract and the new term added, yes he is the highest-paid non-QB in average annual salary. But ask any NFL player and they'll tell you the amount of fully guaranteed money is what really matters.

How in the world did Myles Garrett so easily survive attacking a fellow player with a weapon on national television?  He then “double downed” on aggravated assault by attempting to impugn the character of his victim with a LIE that he used a racial slur against him. (That is arguably more potentially damaging to a player than most felonies I could list.)

Well, Austin, that's a situation with quite a few layers to it. First of all, Myles Garrett is amazing at football, so that always helps wash away a lot of controversy and disgracefulness. Second of all, his biggest backers would surely tell you he did his time and apologized for his actions (debatable). Third, Garrett has never actually walked back the slur accusation.

Hey Bats! Love reading your stuff and thanks for the chats. With P Cam Johnston back and healthy what would be the best thing the Steelers could do with P Corliss Whitman? Is he tradable or worth stashing on the practice squad? I am not sure he would clear waivers… what do you think? Thanks.

The best thing any team can do with a second NFL-caliber punter is trade him for anything of value.

Everyone Complains about the Steelers not winning a playoff game. The reason they have not won a playoff game is because they are not any good!  The NFL expanded the number of teams in the playoffs to generate even more revenue. Mediocre Mike limps in and not only is his team bad but he consistently gets out coached. Win a playoff game. Laughable
