Thanks for the chats BB and welcome back!  I dont have a problem with Alexander signing but it feels like we let average ILBs walk and replaced them with more average ILBs who have to learn a new system.  I know time will tell but if we had cap room why not trade for a stud at ILB?

Jeff, I'm sort of with you, which is why I was beating the drum pretty loud for Tremaine Edmunds back in February/March. But the Bears made him the fourth-richest ILB in the league at $18 a year. Paying what they're paying Heyward, Watt, Fitzpatrick, even Ogunjobi, and now Highsmith, the Steelers have to save money elsewhere on defense, and that's just the reality of the ILB spending.

Hi Brian, Love your chats and when you're on podcasts. Is there something you enjoy most about training camp?

Hey Paul, I don't necessarily mind the hour-long drive from the North Hills to Latrobe every day, but I don't enjoy it. What I do like is getting to write what we see at practice, which is not the case in the spring or regular season. Oh, and dining in the Saint Vincent cafeteria, that's the biggest highlight.

Reading that Rudolph is not off to a great start. Does he want to be at camp? Any chance that Tanner Morgan moves past him?

Yes, he wants to be here enough, or he wouldn't have re-signed. No, Tanner Morgan won't replace him. But at least Morgan gets reps, unlike Chris Oladokun last year.

Hello Brian - Thanks for your chats!  I appreciate what you do sir.  What the heck happened with Pottebaum?  I know he was a long shot to make the team but to ‘retire’ as a rookie a couple weeks into camp seems odd.

It is odd, indeed. But hey, if you're ever gonna hang it up, no sense in waiting until after you get treated like a human tackling dummy for the next two weeks. Get out while you still can. Which reminds me, I have some thinking to do...
Just kidding. But I do have to wrap up the chat. Thanks as always for joining and we'll do it again next Monday, with six(!) more practices to dissect. Talk to you then.
