Thanks for the question, Duke. Sam Davis is well before my time. But from what I know of him, he'll certainly be in future discussions for that wing of Steelers history.

Hey now, JP Holtz caught a pass yesterday ! Looks like he may have found a home, his active roster guarantee ends this week and will be subject to waivers if the Bears do not keep him on the 53, do you think the Steelers would bring him in if available ?
Brian Batko
12:51
That'd be great. My guy George Aston is also a free agent, too. But clearly, the Steelers aren't putting much stock into bolstering the fullback position while Roosevelt Nix is out. Think he might be back soon, anyway.

Brian: any news on Ben's surgery? Media reports are that he had it last week in LA. Any current news on recovery time?
Brian Batko
12:51
Nope, not that I've seen or heard. Probably a question for Mike Tomlin at his next weekly presser.

Any idea how AB did on his paper that was due last night?
Brian Batko

I have a call in to Central Michigan, waiting to hear back

Notice how the can't answer that question NickFromVA. They are like MSNBC for Tomlin. Nothing but excuses and place blame elsewhere to protect their golden Rooney rule goose.

You're right, we've never criticized Mike Tomlin. Well, except for Ray Fittipaldo giving "coaching" an F, F and a D in three games this season in his postgame report cards https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2019/09/08/steelers-patri... https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2019/09/22/49ers-steelers... https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2019/09/22/49ers-steelers...

Let's get Benny Snell in the game more, don't you agree?
Brian Batko
12:56
Yeah, he's provided some pop on a few limited attempts. There aren't too many touches to go around between the three RBs, but I still like Snell.

Im with you on the Fitzpatrick Trade. Regardless of where they pick, they were likely going to target a safety high in the draft anyway. If they Picked a Safety in Round 1 that was as good as MF, we would all consider that a successful draft pick.
Brian Batko
12:57
Basically, yes. This isn't a team that is ready to blow it all up anytime soon.

Thanks for the chats Brian!..Do you think the departure of Munchack is really effecting o line play? I thought since Serrett took over and was with him previously there would be minimal if any drop off in play.
Brian Batko
12:57
Not as much as some are speculating. They weren't running too well even under Munchak at the end of last year, and it's still a veteran group.

I like the Fitzpatrick trade.  It keeps Tomlin and Colbert from picking a player with a 3rd round grade to fill a position of need.  Anywho, did the Steelers mess up by exposing Skipper to waivers to keep the thoroughly replaceable Johnny Holton?
Brian Batko
12:58
Maybe. But how much would Tuzar Skipper be rotating in right now anyway? He'd probably be inactive, at least until Anthony Chickillo's injury. And hey, you call him thoroughly replaceable, I call him this team's No. 4 receiver right now.

What do you think of a mock football draft I saw which has the Steelers taking Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor in the second round next year? Personally, I don’t know if he will be available at that point.  Thanks.
Brian Batko
12:59
No idea about Jonathan Taylor's draft stock, but I wouldn't use anything higher than a late round pick on a running back next year if I'm the Steelers. Too many other issues to deal with.

How many wins do you see this team having this year?
Brian Batko
1:00
Oh, geez. Well, I predicted 9-7 before the season. I'll move off that a bit, but not too far. How about 7-9? Remaining wins over Cincyx2, Miami, Jets, Cards, and some combination of Colts at home, Bills at home, and the two Browns games.

Brian who's your pick tonight?
Brian Batko
1:01
Ah, yes, I did promise a prediction, didn't I? It'll probably be wrong. But what the heck. I'll go Steelers 31, Bengals 20. Sorry I couldn't get to every question. I never can. You can always email me or tweet me. Enjoy the game, everyone!
