Isn’t it possible that not only does Canada need to go but Pickett also isn’t very good?
Brian Batko
12:36
Of course. As I wrote in my mailbag recently, when you’re middle of the pack offensively, maybe you’re just missing one or two key ingredients. When you’re at the bottom of the league, clearly there’s a lot that’s not working. A lot of parties can be blamed when you’re scoring 13 or fewer offensive points in three of four games.

Hey Brian, if MT would do us a solid and lose the remainder of the games on the schedule who would you draft Caleb Williams or Drake Maye?
Brian Batko
12:38
Caleb Williams and it’s not even close.

I traveled to Houston to see the game. Watching our offense scheme is worse then a youth football team. Canada needs gone now. No more excuses from Tomlin. If GM Omar & Rooney doesn't step in for changes, we will be drafting in the top 10 next year. What do you think about changes during this week?  I don't to hear "it's not way the Steelers operate". It's either Canada or Tomlin

How am I supposed to respond to this when you don’t wanna hear reality?

Canada's gotta go!!  I marveled at 49ers, and Texans offense and think why not us??  I mean 3rd and long they run the ball, and don't force a young QB into a mistake.  Quick passes, and passes over the middle.  Crazy concept, fast tempo to keep defense off balance.  They create plays where WR are wide open!!  When they do pass i notice those teams have an extra o-line man to help protect.  Is Tomlin the only one in football not seeing our OC has gotta go??

Evidently, he is. Canada came in with some interesting play designs and wrinkles and concepts on his film, but it’s not working at this level, to say the least.

Omar was supposed to be the king of deception but looks like he was deceived by the players he brought in. they all seem they once was but are not now the players the once were.

It always looks good on paper, Robert. Countless times this off-season I said 32 teams think they improved from 2022 to 2023.

Miss me yet?

James Harrison, James Farrior, Casey Hampton, Troy Polamalu are missed.

Interesting article and impeccable timing from you regarding the players tuning Tomlin out. At what point does Mr. Rooney step in and make meaningful change? This aggression will not stand, man!

I don’t think they meant it that way but I do think it’s fair to question the culture of the Steelers, to an extent. Who’s standing up there taking accountability? Who’s leading? Who’s demanding more from teammates? The effort looked less than 100% at times yesterday, particularly on defense where you’re supposed to have a veteran group with real studs

Thanks for the chat Bats. How do you rate Broderick Jones’s performance?  I find it hard to blame him for a sack that KP ran himself into.
Brian Batko

Hard to say overall but totally agree with you that wasn’t on him at all

There are ups and downs week to week for most teams in the NFL. Even supposedly great teams deliver poor games sometimes and may even lose to inferior appearing opponents.

This post was so unexpected that I’m gonna just end our time here. Some days you’re the windshield, some days you’re the bug. The Steelers have been the bug too much lately, but hey, it’s the NFL. Things can change quickly. We’ll chat again next week.
