after watching the Denver OL the other day do you think old mike might be wishing he was back in pgh?
Brian Batko
2:46
I would've thought the Broncos OL would be crushing it given how many people in this chat were blaming the Steelers' issues on Munchak leaving

Whats the chance the Steelers start throwing downfield again this year?   You know, 10-12-15 yard routes, not 2-3 yards.   Lets see what this kid can do.
Brian Batko
2:46
I'll go with 92 percent, Thomas

How is Mason Rudolph's recovery from a concussion  coming along?  Is he close to getting cleared to play on Monday night?
Brian Batko
2:47
He's cleared. He'll start.

When does it make sense for an offense to run the wildcat? Is it just a case that it’s novel and it’s disorientating if a defense hasn’t seen it before?
Brian Batko
2:48
Pretty much. Or if you're in a really unfortunate situation at QB. Maybe short-yardage, at times. Maybe if you have a unique kind of player that can run a lot and pass a little.

Did you watch any games this weekend? See or learn anything interesting?
Brian Batko
2:49
I watched some of the Pitt game Friday night. That was an interesting game. Spent most of my Sunday doing the RedZone thing, so I learned that the Chargers are having a season from hell. The end of their loss to Tennessee was abominable.

Why the indifference to extending Hargrave during the summer? The guy is an absolute beast and I can't see him staying now with his reputation growing every week. He's as good as gone after this year wouldn't you agree?
Brian Batko
2:51
He's good, but still at a position that just doesn't play a whole lot of snaps in today's NFL. He'll have a chance to prove more the rest of this season with Stephon Tuitt out.

more buzz after one game! that's sickening. But you've proven my point. Rodgers has one game he's won MVP. Ben's done that PLUS on NUMEROUS occasions and meh. that makes him even more overrated with you're comment.

It me, guy leading a one-man charge to gas up Aaron Rodgers for some reason

Re: domestic violence issue --- I remember when James Harrison was charged and the Steelers stood behind him (notably, Dan Rooney); another player who was a back-up and had similar charges at the same time was cut immediately.
Brian Batko

You're thinking of wide receiver Cedrick wilson

Is it too soon to say the Steelers get a good grade with the 2019 draft? I think it is B+
Brian Batko
2:53
Way too soon, my dear Iron City

When the offense is back on the field are they finally going to let the qb get in a rythym and stop with the stupid wildcat ?
Brian Batko
2:53
We didn't see the Wildcat at all in LA. Thinking we won't see it again with Mason Rudolph back in.

I’ve read one of the reasons behind the struggling run game, at least before the Chargers, is Linemen don’t get in a 3-point stance when the QB is in the Shotgun, which the Steelers run a lot.  Why don’t they?
Brian Batko
2:54
Need to be set up to get right into pass protection.

Do you foresee the team being active prior to the trade deadline? Any chance they move a guy like Hargrave or did that ship sail with Tuitt going down?
Brian Batko
2:55
I don't see it. They've already done more wheeling and dealing than usual, which depleted their draft picks, and the Steelers hardly have a surplus of valuable commodities on the roster at this point.
Jack Lambert's tooth

Any chance they can get tuzar back to play lb?
Brian Batko
2:55
Only if they trade for him or if the Giants release him.

Maurkice was also quoted in the PG as in the middle of talking trash, and was surprised by the snap call from Duck. Blamed himself.
Brian Batko
2:55
Correct, he owned up to those snap issues vs. the Chargers

Does a desperate team take a shot with me this year?
Brian Batko
2:56
I don't think so, but Michael Irvin is on his soap box asking for the Cowboys to do it

If there were an onside kick in the PG sports department, who is on your five-man/woman hands team, and why?
Brian Batko
2:58
I'm not putting myself on there, that's for sure. Our Pens guys, Matt Vensel (former goalie) and Mike DeFabo (solid high school outfielder at Latrobe). Paul Zeise was a soccer goalie I think, so I'll take him too. And then lastly, Ray Fittipaldo and Nubyjas Wilborn. They at least played college football. I like our chances.

What’s your score prediction for next Monday nights game?
Brian Batko
3:00
Something like Steelers 27, Dolphins 20. But maybe I'll change my mind in the next seven days. OK, that's all the time we have for today. Sorry if I couldn't get to your question. You can always tweet me or email it to me for our weekly Steelers mailbag. Enjoy this fall foliage, folks.
