How can this be allowed to continue? Seriously.  The team stinks, and what's worse is, they have no real up and coming "stars" on the horizon, just a bunch of has beens.

Look, I can think back to 2022 when the Steelers lost four in a row, the last of which they got absolutely pasted by the Bills 38-3. They turned around and beat Tom Brady's Bucs with Josh Jackson, Quincy Wilson and Elijah Riley playing many meaningful snaps in their secondary. Sometimes the NFL makes no sense. And to be very clear, I'm not predicting that will happen against the Colts, who look like a dang juggernaut, but that's why I say I've seen this movie before.

I’ll never understand why Tomlin says things like "unleash hell" and "historic" defense. He is a smart man, but says some not very smart things that come back to bite him. Do you have any insight into why he does this?

On the play where 85 made the catch and Steelers wanted OPI, it looked like the DB was more worried about being demonstrative in order to get a call than he was in trying to tackle 85 or even look for the ball. What say you?

It looked like it may have been one of those sneaky pushoff moves by Tucker Kraft on DeShon Elliott, but I can tell you Packers fans are defending it by saying Elliott initiated the contact. Longtime readers of the chat know I don't spend a ton of time complaining about officials. More often than not I find it boring and pedantic. Ask yourself this, if that was Pat Freiermuth and Xavier McKinney, would you say he pushed off?

Hey Brian!  When will Mike Tomlin be held accountable? Will he be? We all know he is heavily involved in the defense and it is really showing on the field. The way this team is playing right now, The only possible victory I see in the next five games is at Chicago, MAYBE. What a joke. It's time for the Steelers to find a new voice for the locker room, and how embarrassing is it that Packer fans took over Heinz Field (yeah, yeah .I know, Acrisure) just a total embarrassment on national TV.

Brian, I think I'm about your age so I wasn't around for the terrible Steelers teams of the 80s. As a Steelers fan I never thought I would see football as frustrating as the Matt Canada offense, however after last night (and the last 7-10 games really) i think im forced to rethink that idea after watching the defense. Could you imagine if we even just had the Matt Canada era defense to pair with this current offense?

I think Teryl Austin is better at his job than Matt Canada was at his, but yeah, it is starting to get reminiscent of those seasons. Every week in the chat I'd get people asking me if it's coaching or playing that's more to blame. And like I'd say back then, I'll do it again now, it's both. When you're down this bad it can't just be one thing or the other. There are full-scale breakdowns compounding each other across the board, man.
