The Rams and the Arizona games were the two being least important for the Steelers to win because they were NFC games and not factors in tie breakers. Could that have had any impact on resting Conner or Ramon?

I don't think so. That was still a huge, huge game. Just don't think either of those guys were ready for that one.

Drove from NYC for the game yesterday what a great atmosphere. Was yesterday JW coming out party?
Brian Batko

They should hope so. He made some of the catches you need to see from your No. 2 receiver. The fade in the end zone was something that's been missing for this offense, no doubt. Let's see him string some together, though. Hope you had a nice drive.

A win is a win and we're in a playoff spot. Lots of upside right now, especially with the way the second half schedule pans out. I was wondering if anyone else noticed how we snapped the ball way early in our last possession. The play clock was only down to 15 or 16 with the clock running and we were snapping the ball. Seems we could serve ourselves better by allowing as much time off the clock as possible, especially in a tight game like this one was. Hopefully, it was picked up on by the team and they will make the correction in regard to late game time management.

Yeah, that last drive was not ideal. To force the defense to go back out there after the stop they made was a big ask, and yet, they clamped down in another sudden change situation. That was an area of improvement from Indy to Rams.

Have we seen the last of Ryan Switzerland as a return man ?

Ehhh I'm neutral

Brian -  Thanks for the chat.  With each passing week, I think it is more obvious that the problems on offense are Randy problems not Mason or personnel problems.  His play calling is too predictable and when a call is unexpected it is generally an atrocious call.   Mason doesn't check out like Ben does.  How can Randy's shortcomings be overcome?

See ball, catch ball, don't fumble ball. Not necessarily trying to defend Fichtner, because I don't think he's doing a great job, but some of these offensive numbers look considerably better if individual players make plays.

So... The Defense is finally good! Oh, but the Offense is now terrible. Sigh. Our Offensive Line and WR’s have always been a strength and now seem to be a weakness. Have you ever seen so many dropped passes in one game?
Brian Batko
2:57
Yeah, Week 1 at New England, all by the same player.

Do you go to all the Steelers games as part of your job covering?  Are you in a PG booth with catering etc or where do you sit?
Brian Batko
2:58
I go to all the home games and now will be traveling to the divisional road games, as was the preseason plan. We sit in the press box with all the other scribes. It is catered. I sit in seat No. 6. I am Duck Hodges.

Another benefit of Fitzpatrick trade.  Despite losing one year of rookie contract, his bonus won't count much vs cap going forward (unlike their own R1 2020 pick would).  Do you see this as a benefit or will they need to extend him sooner?
Brian Batko
2:58
Definitely a benefit, but I'm not sure how they'll approach his contract situation. He's certainly outplaying his rookie deal, obviously.

Kinda lost in the Minkah, TJ and Bud accolades, has anyone noticed how great Cam is playing?
Brian Batko

I have. My coworkers have. Keep an eye out for our coverage this week.

Dr. Batko, you are one step close to shaving your head and getting a temporary Dulac tattoo.

Heh. I did say in last week's chat that if the Steelers run the table, I'll shave my head. Never mentioned anything about a Dulac tattoo. But hey, I'll stand by my original proclamation and double down: if they win the Super Bowl, I'll do both.

What is your prediction of the Steelers record? Mine is 10-6. I see them losing against the Ravens and a classic Tomlin lose, probably the Cardinals.

Nice one, Alberto. I'm torn. Don't know how to feel about this Thursday night game. Might just be their toughest one until Week 17 at Baltimore. Or maybe Buffalo, but that's at home. I'll go with 5-4-7.
Just like that, our hour is up. It flew by! Thanks for stopping. Ray Fittipaldo with you all tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your Veteran's Day, and shoutout to all of those who have served our country.
