Watching the games Pierre makes Slay look amateur why do the coaches keep cutting him and spending money on guys past their use by date?

Juan Thornhill got my nod for worst free agent signing this year, considering he didn't even make it to Thanksgiving and is now on the Jaguars practice squad, but when you factor in price and role, you can easily make a case that Slay was their worst evaluation of the offseason.

Hello Brian. What are your impressions of our young rookie defensive lineman so far?

There are more than one, my dear Budward

Before Rodgers got hurt he seemed slow and afraid to get hit.  It’s been like that the last few games.  Football is a contact sport and if he’s not up for it make him a coach the rest of the year.  Mason also looked good.  He can roll out and avoid the rush Rodgers can’t do that anymore.

What about that 8-yard scramble?!

Hi Brian, I’m fairly new to watching the NFL.  While watching games, I’ve noticed that there are quite a few delay of game penalties.  The announcers often say that the play didn’t get to the quarterback in a timely manner.  Can you explain the green dot on the quarterback’s helmet and whether it makes a difference if the play caller is up in the box or on the sidelines.  Thank you!

Hi Katie. No better way to really throw yourself into the NFL than by consuming as many P-G Steelers chats as possible. The QB has a headset in his helmet that allows the play-caller to communicate with him. I don't know that there's any correlation between OCs in the box or OCs on the field and delay of game penalties.

Any word on how serious Warren’s injury is?

He actually was on the field about to take a snap in the second half when the Steelers called a timeout, so that makes me optimistic about it. Had it been a gotta-have-it situation, he might've returned to the game

Did the Steelers abandon the "build thru the draft" mentality because they aren't adept at drafting d-backs, or does the coach just rely too heavily on meetings he's had with college players before the draft, even when it's years later that he can sign them?

They still want to build through the draft at every position, but they've whiffed a lot more than they've hit at that spot.

Good afternoon Brian what do you think about the defense yesterday and the play of Mason Rudolph also do they end their losing streak in Chicago this weekend GO STEELERS

Hey Ryan, thanks for being a loyal chatter. The defense was very good. Mason was pretty good. The losing streak in Chicago? Ah... I need to think about it. I picked the Steelers last night on the KDKA Sports Showdown but already regretting it. Kind of like Pierre Peninsula.
OK folks, I've got to call it. Sorry if I didn't get to your question but Ray Fittipaldo will be in tomorrow to keep the good vibes going. Enjoy Cowboys-Raiders tonight, I guess.
