Foot. He's not fully healthy.

Do you think Marcus Allen gets any consequences or does he just keep on truckin' like he said Tomlin told him on the sidelines ?  Will it set well with his teammates if there are not any consenquences ?
Brian Batko

Honestly I don't know. I give him some amount of credit for not ducking the media or dodging the question after the game. Basically said he was too passionate and needs to do a better job of not chasing that back-and-forth with the opponent. Would you like to him say something like "that's completely, 100% unacceptable and I guarantee it won't happen again"? Sure. But at least he didn't spew some BS like "who cares, we won anyway."

Good afternoon Brian what do you think about the play of Highsmith Heyward and watt yesterday everyone looked good
Brian Batko
2:45
They were very good. When they play like that, it's difficult to score on this defense and the Steelers are tough to beat. The Bills, Bengals, Ravens and Titans all have discovered this the last two seasons.

Your colleague Zeise seems to think all signs point to Canada returning next season. What is he smoking?
Brian Batko
2:46
Oddly enough I asked Paul what he was smoking last weekend in the press box during the Wiz Khalifa show and he had nothing.

Is there anyway the Steelers bring back Canada next year?
Brian Batko
2:47
Nothing's a guarantee. If the Steelers all of a sudden explode these last three games and look like a high-flying offense, then sure, keep him. But how likely is that, Paul?

Hey Brian!Marcus Allen is a fired up individual and I would love to see more passion like his in some of the other players on the team. Sure it was a bad penalty but it was also funny to watch happen as this is an entertainment industry. Not sure what he even said to the huddle of panthers players but I’m sure it was just the usual trash-talk we see and hear about. Is this really even a story worth talking about? But also, why do I keep seeing Pittsburgh listed in the hunt for playoffs. It’s pretty grim in that front, is this just a marketing ploy to get people to the last 3 games? Are we a pawn in the NFLs chess game?
Brian Batko

Sure it's worth talking about. It wasn't the most significant play of the game or even in the top 10, but touchdowns, sacks and field goals happen in every game every week. This was so bizarre, a "man bites dog" story, as the old-school journalists might say. Of course it's gonna be talked about!

If Kenny is cleared to play does he play against the Raiders? Or do you think Tomlin sticks with Trubisky to ride the wave?
Brian Batko
2:51
I think Pickett plays. Tomlin has said, going back to training camp, he won't be blowing with the wind in regard to his QB situation. You could argue he did that by benching Trubisky, and I probably would, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't go back to Pickett.

Merry Christmas Brian! What is the status of Jaylen Warrens contract? Is he on a 4 year deal like most rookies? Or is it a shorter deal because he was undrafted?
Brian Batko
2:53
It's a three-year UDFA deal. Quite a steal, eh?
Krystle
2:53
Will Najee be offered an extension?
Brian Batko
2:54
Not anytime soon. He's in the second season of a four-year rookie deal with a fifth-year option. If I had to guess, given how infrequently those big second contracts come for rookies, I would guess he doesn't get extended here.

Being how Carr isn’t Darnold I got a bad feeling our secondary is gonna get burnt. What’s your thoughts on this?
Brian Batko
2:57
Davante Adams vs. Cam Sutton/Levi Wallace/whoever gets thrown into that blender is certainly a key matchup. It's actually been three weeks in a row that they haven't had to worry too much about the passing game.

The left side of the offensive line has been offensive for a large part of the season.  Are they actually turning into a competent duo or has the recent opposition just been that poor?
Brian Batko

They're making strides, but might be too little too late. Kevin Dotson is particularly frustrating because he can knock people into next week but continues to struggle with penalties. Doesn't inspire a ton of confidence on that front.
3:01
OK folks, that's all the time we have for today. I highly doubt I'll be here the day after Christmas, but Ray Fittipaldo is ready to roll tomorrow after Mike Tomlin's presser. Happy holidays and stay warm if you're in Pittsburgh.
