2 or 3 year extension for Tomlin after the season? Or is the term moot since he's coach for life?
Brian Batko

Much like my last answer, I think he'll be the head coach here as long as he wants to be. And even if they truly did decide it's time for change at the top, I simply cannot see them outright firing him. It would be smoothed into some sort of mutual agreement, parting of ways, whatever you want to call it.

What's the mood in the locker room today? Does it feel like a team that's already beaten or a team looking forward to the opportunity to win and get in?

I feel like I say this a lot, but sincerely, you can't tell much of a difference in a winning or losing locker room. And I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. There's something to be said for not getting too high or too low over the course of an 18-game season.

So what would be your offensive game plan against the Ravens? Without DK it can’t be easy to game plan for.

Would yinz stop asking me for my game plan to beat the Ravens? It's only Monday

Should the steelers trade/release DK if they fail to make the playoffs  ?

Absolutely no

Where to begin?  I’ll take the easy shot first:  ‘Muth got us down the field on the final drive; why wasn’t he targeted before/after that?

Hey, he was ... on a free play. Ha, that just made me think of something. Imagine Rodgers spending a little more time in the pocket and trying to ad-lib and Garrett gets a sack only for it to get wiped out by the too many men on the field call.

This no longer makes any sense. The fanbase has recognizes the shell game. Each loss seems to be more incredible than the last. It is really irritating that the head coach thinks we didn't play too badly against the lowly Browns. This was a punch-your-ticket game and, once again, a mysterious curse-like haze engrosses on the team. What do you think it the key to fielding a team that shows up and shows out in big games? We don't have to win. We aren't owed a win, we aren't an anointed franchise anymore... but can we not look silly? Every fan out there knew this outcomes wasn't just possible, but likely. Where do we go from here? I vote Deebo for QC. His podcast routinely breaks down the fire that is missing. Install him to shake things up despite his coaching inexperience.

With the Steelers in the post-Ben era, maybe even the post-Ben elbow injury era, it's almost as if the ceiling is the floor and the floor is the ceiling more often than not. They build the team in such a way and play so conservatively much of the time that yes, it can keep them in games they shouldn't win on paper - maybe even get them a win - but it also leads to debacles like we witnessed yesterday. It's a big-picture criticism of the playoff-drought Steelers more than it is a specific take-down of Browns 13, Chris Boswell 6.

OK ladies and gentlemen, with that, I have to get to stepping. Thanks for another great year of chats, mailbags, all the above. We'll do it again next week, rain or shine, playoffs or no playoffs. Enjoy Sunday. It's why they play the games!
