What does Syndergaard cost someone next year?
Steve Adams
3:15
Might just accept the QO

What's with the rumors I will be moved to KC?  They already have Santana, McBroom, O'Hearn and need to make room for Pratto.
Steve Adams

Dozier, too. I don't really buy it, but the two sides talked around deadline time so it'll be a narrative for awhile now. If anything, the Royals should be trying to move on from Santana , in similar fashion, to allow Dozier/Pratto and maybe a low-cost free agent to get those 1B/DH at-bats.
3:17
(I know Dozier had a brutal season, but he had a big finish and has a decent batted-ball profile -- at least a better one than his 2021 results would indicate)

why do you say the Jays can't sign both Ray and Semian? I'm not saying they will but to say they probably can't looks like a lazy take considering they have a history of spending when winning and very few future commitments
Steve Adams

They have the payroll capacity to do so, for sure. It's just a matter of if they want to bog themselves down with two more half-decade commitments (possibly six-year deals, even) when they already have Springer signed and also are going to want to extend both Vlad and Bichette at some point.

They may very well be amenable to it, but given that I expect both Ray and Semien to top five years and $125MM this winter, I have a hard time seeing them take on that level of risk.

Realistic chances Cards go after story?
Steve Adams
3:22
Yeah, like I said earlier, I can see the Cards in on many of the top SS, with DeJong being a possible trade candidate, but they're in a good spot in that they needn't feel like they HAVE to do that and could pivot to pitching as well. Story makes more sense to me there than Seager or Correa, albeit only because we haven't seen the Cards spend at Seager/Correa levels in the past.

what are your predictions for a Stroman contract?
Steve Adams
3:25
Five years in the $110MM range? I'm higher on him than some of the rest of the staff, and I know he doesn't have the gaudy strikeout numbers. But he's durable, has generally steered clear of concerning arm injuries, is one of the premier ground-ball pitchers in the game and has plus command as well.

Plus, with this year's uptick in swinging-strike and opponents' chase rates, are we so sure there's not more strikeout upside? O
I think there's a bit more room for some whiffs in there with the tweaks to his pitch mix he made this year.

Free agent who gets the largest contract ?
Steve Adams

Correa

What kind of return could the Phillies get for Nola?
Steve Adams
3:26
A pretty darn good one, but they're not trading him.

Do you think barnhart is a red in 2022
Steve Adams
3:26
I do not.

who do the Yankees move other than Voit if they sign a SS?
Steve Adams
3:28
Do they really need to move anyone else? Urshela-shortstop-Gleyber-LeMahieu works around the infield.

But broadly speaking I think it's feasible that any of Voit, Sanchez, Gallo are moved over the winter.

Ok, I have to wrap up for the week. I'm on Twitter @Adams_Steve. We'll aim for another chat around this time next week. Thanks for joining, as always, and enjoy the rest of your week everyone!
