Trevor Rosenthal, obviously, as was mentioned earlier

What the heck is Falvine doing in MN?
Steve Adams
3:28
I wrote the day Molitor was fired that Falvey and Levine never seemed to want Molitor as the manager and kind of got backed into extending him when the Twins surprised and made the postseason. Have to think whether it was in 2018, 2019 or 2020 -- the first poor season he had would be their reason to move on.

It's not a knock on Molitor, but most new GM hires don't like being handed someone they didn't appoint themselves. They have a vision for the organization, and Molitor wasn't it. If he wants to coach/manage elsewhere, he'll have other opportunities.

i still got it, dont forget about me!

If any 58-year-old former big leaguer, be it Oil Can Boyd or anyone else, wants to make a comeback -- they have my unbridled support, ha.

Ohtani for RoY? Baseball America say he's the favorite to win, so does Jeff.
Steve Adams
3:32
He's the best hitting rookie in the AL on a rate basis, made 10 solid starts as well. I'd probably vote for him over Andujar simply because Andujar gave so much of his value at the plate back with his awful defense at third base. There's a reason the Yankees jumped to put Hechavarria in at third base last night. Frankly, I'm not even convinced Andujar is the best rookie on his own team (Gleyber).

All that said, it's a very close race. I don't mean to downplay what an exceptional rookie season Andujar had at the plate, and it's kind of amazing that Gleyber Torres has somehow become lost in the shuffle here. Also have guys like Joey Wendle out there to consider as well -- not enough people mention how good he was.

I'd go Ohtani, but it won't be a travesty if Andujar wins or anything.

Nelson Cruz to the Rays if he doesn't re-sign with SEA?
Steve Adams
3:33
Doubt they'll spend the kind of money he'd command.
White Sox 2045
3:33
No way the White Sox can even come close to competing until _________  and ___________ start playing the way they expected to.
Steve Adams
3:35
It's not a matter of one or two specific players needing to contribute. The upper levels of their farm are stacked. A few guys are going to bust or fail to meet expectations, and others will surpass them. Eloy will be a big key to the success, as will (in 2020) a healthy Kopech. I get the Moncada frustration but I don't think there's any reason to think he can't be a solid big leaguer. Giolito is more concerning, to me, but even he showed some potential at times.

Hi Steve! We have a lot of unproven arms going into the playoffs and into next season. Do I make a big splash in the pitching market or is a corner OF and 3rd base my priority?
Steve Adams
3:38
With Austin Riley waiting and Johan Camargo turning in a season that wildly outpaced most expectations for him (myself included -- kudos on a great season, Johan), I don't think third base is really a crucial need. Upgrading the pitching staff is more prudent, to me. And even though Flowers is a real nice player, I think they'd still make sense as a landing spot for Grandal.

I'm not giving up on a comeback!
Steve Adams
3:38
He's actually a hitting coach in the KBO, ha
YOU FUNNY GUY
3:40
I think it's funny when you answered the Cruz question that you said you were paraphrasing but then provided a direct quote. ":)"
Steve Adams
3:40
Ha, it wasn't his actual quote -- just my best recollection of it

so you had two different games for the wild card.  One extra inning nail biter that comes down to 1 run on a signal, and another win by hitting HR's.    I personally was way more interested in the 1 run game.  Am I old school?
Steve Adams
3:42
It's easier to be invested when it's a close game throughout. Whether that's a 1-1 game or a slugfest like some of the insane Dodgers/Astros showdowns we saw last year, I think close games where it feels like every play could swing the outcome are more exciting in the postseason. That wasn't the case after the fifth inning or so last night. I don't think that's a matter of old school vs. new school -- it's just being intrigued by drama and the importance of every single pitch

Do you see Betts finally winning AL MVP?
Steve Adams
3:42
Yeah I think he will

Phillies must get rid of the GM
Steve Adams
3:43
They improved by 14 games and received fine, albeit not outstanding production from the group of free agents they brought in. I don't agree.
Rosenthal
3:44
Would DC be a good spot for me?
Steve Adams
3:44
You're talking a formerly elite reliever who can be had on a one-year deal that virtually any team can afford. In terms of pure on-paper fit, he'd be a good fit anywhere.

Cobb/Chatwood swap (contracts and all). Who says no?
Steve Adams
3:45
Cubs would be taking on more years and more dollars without receiving any luxury tax help. I don't think they'd go for it

Wilson Ramos v Yaz Grandal. Who's better over the next 2 yrs?
Steve Adams
3:46
Ramos will be a better hitter, Grandal the more valuable all-around catcher.
Drew
3:47
Am I in the starting rotation for the Cubs in 2019?
Steve Adams
3:47
Assuming that's in reference to Smyly, then yeah I think so
Luke
3:47
Do the Mariners start a rebuild or just continue to sit in purgatory?
Steve Adams
3:49
They won 89 games this year and have Mitch Haniger, Jean Segura, James Paxton, Marco Gonzales and Edwin Diaz all playing at 30 or under next season, plus a still-productive Robinson Cano. Felix's deal is off the books next winter. They're not going to rebuild -- at least not yet.

Chances angels get Maddon to manage for them?
Steve Adams
3:51
Theo Epstein said yesterday that Maddon is his manager in 2019.
Donaldson Ducks
3:52
D-backs sign Donaldson to 3year deal with 1 year opt out and Murphy to a 1 year deal.  Then trade Lamb/Ahmed for a mid rotation arm/bullpen help and move Marte to SS?  Just trying to find some more offense for one of the worst offensive teams in 2017.
Steve Adams
3:53
I don't think anyone's giving Donaldson that kind of contract after the year he's had, and I think you're light giving Murphy only one year. Lamb's value is in the tank right now. I don't consider that scenario realistic.
