Apologies on the late start! I'm going to grab something to drink because I foolishly opened this thing before doing so, ha. I'll start grabbing questions in a minute, but feel free to begin asking.
4:33
Iced tea acquired!
It begins
Brian Cashman
4:34
Do I do anything now that Sevy is gone for the year and who knows when Paxton and German get back?
Steve Adams
4:34
He just said in a followup interview with Yankees beat writers that he expects to stay internal. There's not much out there this time of year anyhow -- I think they'll try to get by with Montgomery and a revolving door in the five spot for now
Joe
4:35
Is Evan Gattis officially Retired?
Steve Adams
4:37
To my knowledge, he hasn't filed any paperwork. If he wanted to play, his agents would be putting it out there that he's interested in a return, which they haven't. I reached out to his camp at some point during the 2019 season and they didn't respond -- doesn't seem like he's interested in playing at this point, though.

I saw on Twitter that Nikolas needs TJ surgery. Why hasn't that been covered on here yet?
Steve Adams
4:38
I've seen no credible report that Miles Mikolas needs Tommy John surgery

Could the Yanks engage LAD in talks for Stripling? Seems like they'd be willing to part with him.
Steve Adams
4:40
I'm sure Cashman will poke around, and perhaps the Dodgers would, but they'd probably need to get some MLB talent in return and there's no certainty that the sides agree on what that value looks like.

What kind of impact do you see from David Price?
Steve Adams
4:41
I think a lot of people forget that David Price was having a pretty good year before the cyst in his wrist flared up. As long as he's healthy my expectation is that he's an above-average starter in the middle of one of MLB's best rotations
Alex
4:42
Have you ever bet on baseball? If so, any memorable payouts?
Steve Adams
4:42
Nah, aside from fantasy baseball I'm not really into sports betting
JD
4:42
Does Giles sign an extension of $50M over four years if the Jays offered?
Steve Adams
4:42
Yup
Aaron
4:43
ETA on Matt Harvey showing up in Yankees camp?
Steve Adams
4:44
Ha -- sign me up for that.

I could see the Yankees bringing in someone on a nonroster deal. Jason Vargas is still out there. Clay Buchholz. Clayton Richard.
Dick Williams
4:45
What would it take to acquire a SS like the Rays Adames in Cincinnati?  Do you feel we need to trade at least for reserve with mlb experience?
Steve Adams
4:47
I think they're comfortable with Galvis and that's a fine option. He's a high-end defender whose crappy OBP they can hide in the seven or eight spot. Reds fans seem to really want a Lindor trade or some high-profile move, but I think Galvis will get at least a few months of regular work there
parth
4:47
will giles get traded..??
Steve Adams
4:47
I expect him to be shopped this summer if/when the Jays are out of the playoff picture
Cubbie Blues
4:48
Do you really see Bryant leading off all year?
Steve Adams
4:49
I find the level of attention being given to the Cubs' batting order beyond perplexing. I have no idea if Bryant will lead off all season and don't think it matters much. But generally, getting him more plate appearances seems like a good plan.
Steve Adams
4:49
Why do you seem so uptight? Were your parents super lame? Is it because Minnesota is super lame? What's your deal?
Steve Adams
4:50
What's Steve's deal?

who do you see winning A's 2B job?
Steve Adams
4:51
I think it's Franklin Barreto, with Mateo making the club in a utility capacity
Puig
4:51
where do I end up?
Steve Adams
4:53
Wherever someone loses a corner outfielder due to injury? At this point it's hard to see a team altering its current outfield mix. Most contenders are set, and most rebuilding clubs would probably rather take a look at younger players. It's a bid odd that he's had THIS much difficulty finding a deal to his liking, but perhaps his asking price wasn't realistic at the start of the winter (which usually is the case in situations like this)
Joey Bart
4:54
Before/After May 1 for my debut?
Steve Adams
4:54
After
Much later into the year, I'd imagine.
Don Zimmy
4:54
how cooked are the Yankees now?
Steve Adams
4:55
Not particularly cooked; I still like them in the AL East, though losing Severino obviously is a blow and does narrow the gap between them and the Rays
Brad Hand's Hand
4:55
Brian Dozier... Ian Kinsler 2.0? Destined for the "front office"?
Steve Adams
4:56
Kinsler signed a two-year deal worth a guaranteed $8MM. Dozier's on a minor league contract. He's not even on the Padres' roster -- no real comparison between their situations
Dave Stieb
4:56
Is it true that Robin Ventura is the twin brother of Ace Ventura?
Steve Adams
4:56
This seems correct.
