Chances I start at 3rd to start the season and move Kingery to super utility
Steve Adams
5:33
Nah, I think he'll open in Triple-A with Kingery, Didi, Segura and Rhys slotted around the infield.
Jeff B
5:33
How do you think the All Star Break might play out in light of current circumstances?
Steve Adams
5:36
We can't even be certain there'll be an All-Star Game/break this year. If they want to get more regular-season games in, wiping out the ASG would be one way to do it. They'd need to give it to the Dodgers in 2021 if they went that route.

5:37
You answered a question earlier about who might benefit from a short season.  Who would a shortened season disadvantage the most.
Steve Adams
5:38
Any team that's relatively healthy right now but could see a top division rival get healthy with the extra time. Rays?
Mike
5:39
Padres starting rotation? Quantril included or opening in triple A
Steve Adams
5:40
Paddack, Richards, Lamet, Davies -- I'd go Lucchessi in the fifth spot most likely.
Padres fan
5:42
Let’s begin the dynasty, Tatis, Machado, Paddock, Patino, Gore, Grisham are the Dodgers in trouble?
Steve Adams
5:43
I don't know that the Dodgers are in trouble no matter how good the Padres get. They have immense payroll capacity and their own core around Bellinger, Buehler, Gavin Lux, Dustin May, Will Smith, etc.

Better choice for a breakout...DeSclafani or Musgrove??
Steve Adams
5:45
I'm a little more partial to Musgrove; better swinging-strike and chase rates, better spin on his FB and breaker, younger. I think they're both solid mid- or back-end guys at worst, though
The Sandlot
5:45
Sandlot or Mighty Ducks who you got?
Steve Adams
5:46
I love both! I'm from St. Paul though -- still live close to the diner in that movie -- so Mighty Ducks has kind of a special place in my heart even though I'm not really a big hockey guy.

I know for a fact I've watched both of those movies in the same day on multiple occasions in my life, haha.

ANY news on Mr. Puig, Yasiel if ya nasty?
Steve Adams
5:48
If there were any meaningful Puig updates -- now, more than ever, they'd be on the site. Haha.
King Felix
5:49
Odds Im still a Brave when the season starts with Hamels getting extra rehab time.
Steve Adams
5:50
He looked pretty sharp when he was pitching. No way to tell if that'll hold up, but he gave them enough to think about that I can see him making the club even if Hamels is back on track.

5:51
Is DD going to make the Reds opening day roster?
Steve Adams
5:51
Assuming that's Derek Dietrich, I don't think there's a clear spot for him barring an injury

with the delayed mlb opening, is nick solak still a keeper for $6 in an AL only league?
Steve Adams
5:53
His value takes a hit since there's a chance Willie Calhoun will be back (thus robbing him of everyday time), but I still really like Solak's bat. I don't know the specifics of your league, and I generally only play mixed formats, but if you can keep him at an affordable rate beyond 2020 as well, I like that price.

Think it's time to put expansion teams in Nashville,  Montreal, Vancouver and San Antonio right?
Steve Adams
5:54
I doubt they'll expand before they get the Rays/A's stadium situations on a good trajectory

Now for the real q: does the loss of revenue from the shutdown/fewer regular-season games put a strain on the wallets of teams like CLE/COL, and make them more likely to trade their pricey superstars (Lindor/Arenado)?
Steve Adams
5:55
I think it was already likely that both Arenado and Lindor open the 2021 season on different teams.
Mario's Keller Bar
5:55
Does this make the AL Central a crazy good division to watch with the Twinkies Sox and Indians all set up for a shorter season?
Steve Adams
5:57
AL Central was already going to be fun, but I think the Twins are still the pretty clear favorites. (They'll have Hill sooner now, too)

Indians' roster is arguably worse than it was in 2019. White Sox are obviously better, but erasing a 29-game deficit isn't easy. Even with some regression for the Twins -- and there will be some -- they're still the team to beat.

What non top 100 rookie is going to make the biggest impact this year?
Steve Adams
6:01
Solak comes to mind since I just answered a question on him, ha. Randy Arozarena isn't on many top 100s, I don't think, but I like him in Tampa Bay. This was a harder question than I initially imagined after coming up with two quick answers! Ha.
Cards fan
6:02
The Cards made a mistake trading Arozarena, don’t you think?  I think he will be the Rays starting CF sometime this year.
Steve Adams
6:02
Hard to argue with getting Liberatore there, but I do think Arozarena will be a nice player for awhile with TB

Re: Your extension piece earlier today. Given pronouncements by both player and team, would be shocked if FF does not conclude his career as a Brave.
Steve Adams
6:03
I didn't write that one -- Jeff did -- but Freddie does seem like a Braves lifer to me.
Greg
6:05
Who plays third for LAD in 2021? Turner is an old free agent after this year.
Steve Adams
6:08
Boring answer: They could slide Muncy or Chris Taylor over there. I wouldn't rule out re-signing Turner. He can still flat out rake, even if the glove is on the decline.

Bold (shorter) answer: Kris Bryant

Ok -- I've got to wrap this up for the week. Thanks, as always -- perhaps even more than usual. Nice to have routines that feel normal when nothing else around us does.

I'm on Twitter for additional questions @Adams_Steve.

Thanks and stay safe!
