Mike Minor is a free agent after the year. With them having Corey Kluber, Minor and Lance Lynn penciled into their rotation, is it possible that God has decided that he doesn't want the Rangers to have good starting pitching for all eternity?
Steve Adams

Ha -- I don't know how bullish I was on the Texas rotation anyhow. I mean, I like all five of the arms they have individually, but there's a pretty high level of variance with all of them, and each has had a pretty poor season in his recent track record.

Could still work out an extension with Minor, FWIW
All around me are familiar faces

Excellent! You should also give exploding kittens and unstable unicorns a try. - Also, speaking of eerie, the song “It’s the end of the world as we know it” playing in the store as one walks along empty toilet paper shelves.

We have both of those games haha

What makes you think Thor will be back before the all-star break next season? Guys dont come back from TJ so soon anymore and many have set backs
Steve Adams

Could take that long as well; I went with about 14 months from his surgery date and was more saying I wouldn't pencil him in May 1 (a bit more than 13 months)

If the season is delayed for too long, or cancelled, do you see baseball e-sports becoming a bigger thing on social media or even sports TV networks?  People playing MLB The Show, for example.  God, I hope not.

Could see some increased coverage of e-sports on sports networks, but I think that's inevitable anyway. The younger generation loves watching the best of the best (and celebrities) stream various games -- it's only natural that networks will eventually seek to monetize that as well. An absence of sports for several months could accelerate that.

I mean, ESPN was playing a five-year old Wrestlemania the other night. They're going to start going outside the box a bit.

How many games for a legit “regular” season?
Steve Adams

I have zero means of projecting that right now and don't think it's responsible to just haphazardly throw out a guess. No one has any way of knowing.

2020 in a nutshell: God, I hope other people don't enjoy this thing I don't enjoy. That would be awful.
Steve Adams

Definitely a lot of that going around these days, yes. Let people like what they like; no one's forcing you to watch coverage of something you don't enjoy.

Are prospect questions not your bag...seems like you offer very little insight there
Steve Adams
6:06
I'm not a scout and don't have particular insight into what a prospect's future holds, so no, I don't go into that much. If you're asking me about a prospect, his proximity to the Majors, service time considerations, Super Two status, etc. -- that's one thing. But for actual evaluations and stuff, I'll save that for the Keith Laws, Kiley McDaniels, Eric Longenhagens, etc. of the world.

Ok -- I do have to wrap this up for the week. I'll chat again next Tuesday, and I'm on Twitter @Adams_Steve in the meantime. Enjoy the rest of your week and stay safe, everyone!
