Ha -- Verlader/Greinke
Sorry about that
VerlaNder. Jeez. Talk about struggling.
Cru Jones
3:55
Your pick for this year's Chris Paddack?
Steve Adams
3:56
High-end top prospect who debuts and pitches well but under an innings limit? Nate Pearson would (should) fit that description.
Danielsquandry
3:57
If Calhoun and Santana continue their poor offensive showings this spring, will the pressure build on JD to call Puigs reps?
Steve Adams
3:57
A few games' worth of spring struggles isn't going to push the Rangers to sign Puig
Big Papi
3:58
After calling out steroids users and then getting named in the Mitchell report, shouldn't I stay away from commenting on the Astros scandal and calling Fiers a "snitch"?
Steve Adams
3:58
Lots of older players have had some real bad takes on that.

What happens (ie how much do they owe) if the Orioles cut Chris Davis? Follow up: Why dont they?
Steve Adams
3:59
They owe him $69MM over the next three seasons regardless of whether he's on the roster or not.
LOOGY
4:00
My new job:  Face the first and third batters, who are lefties, while we intentionally walk the righthanded hitter in between.
Steve Adams
4:01
Teams have generally moved away from LOOGY usage in recent years anyway. Not that one-out matchups haven't been utilized, but the frequency has diminished by a wide margin
4:02
On Adam Eaton: Dave Martinez just said a hamstring "tweak" -- doesn't sound particularly major at the moment
Giants
4:02
chances we move the shark this year?
Steve Adams
4:04
As long as he's healthy and pitching reasonably well, yeah, the Giants will probably be shopping Samardzija this summer. He's in the final season of his contract and owed $18MM. He does have an 8-team no-trade clause.
Errr, check that. He can choose eight teams to which he'll accept a trade.

What are good depth options for the outfield with Hicks and potentially Judge out?
Steve Adams
4:09
Still have Tauchman, Gardner, Frazier ... Wade has experience in the OF, Andujar has been working out in LF this spring. Non-roster options in camp like Rosell Herrera or Zack Granite could get a look. If they're going to be without Judge or Stanton for a prolonged period, Puig is still out there. Melky too, if you want to push for REUNION SZN.
There'll be plenty of waiver options materializing over the next few weeks, too

The Twins sold a draft pick to the Dodgers and got $10M. Any chance they use some of that cash on extensions for guys like Berrios, Buxton, or May?
Steve Adams
4:11
Any extensions they pursue will be largely unrelated to the money they received; they have a good bit of long-term flexibility even after signing Donaldson.
Jerry Dipoto
4:11
will anyone take Seager  off my hands for a good prospect
Steve Adams
4:12
Kyle Seager isn't bringing back a good prospect
Next CBA
4:12
Will younger players get paid? What are the chances of removing 3 "free" years?
Steve Adams
4:12
Can't fathom the owners making that type of concession
Tom Buck
4:13
Was Hamels a waste of money?
Steve Adams
4:14
Easy to say that in hindsight, but he passed a physical at the time of signing. And he was quite good last year before rushing back from the IL. May not end up being worth $18MM, but that doesn't mean he'll be useless either.
Dave
4:15
Will the White Sox sign Gerardo Parra?  Then they would have NOMAR (Mazara) (Leurys) GARCIA(Gerardo)PARRA!
Steve Adams
4:15
Ha
While I appreciate the creativity, Parra signed in Japan early in the offseason
Nick Gonzales
4:16
Am I the first overall pick this summer?
Steve Adams
4:16
Way too early to know who goes 1-1 right now.
Adam Steves
4:17
Who is the favorite to be the closer for the Cardinals? Will they just be a placeholder until Hicks returns?
Steve Adams
4:18
If Carlos Martinez is starting, then I'd assume Gallegos
4:22
Sorry -- Brewers reportedly close on an extension with Yelich... had to jump and get a headline up on that
I can take a couple more and then I'll probably be writing about Yelich for ... awhile. Haha

4:22
Giants lucky Stanton said no 2 years ago?
Steve Adams
4:22
Sure seems that way. Cardinals, too.
Stephen

Montas, Luzardo, Puk the new big 3 in Oakland?
