Greetings! Midway through my Wednesday afternoon, I came to the realization that it is not, in fact Wednesday. Rather, it is Tuesday. Apologies for the delay! We'll keep it going well later than usual to make up for lost time.
Roberto osuna

Am I traded at the deadline
Steve Adams
3:35
Doubt it. Jays control him through 2020, and even if they're not contending this year, they have eyes on a quick turnaround thanks to the fact that they have Vlad Jr., Bo Bichette and others arriving in the near future.

Bundy has looked great! Has he finally become the front line starter he was capable of?
Steve Adams
3:37
I'm buying everything about him thus far. Question for me is more about durability than whether he's moved up a tier. We've still never seen him make 30+ starts or top 180 innings.
Pittsburgh Buccos
3:37
This isn't sustainable, is it?
Blue jays fan
3:37
Is the jays 7-4 start a true measure of how good they are? They look like a wild card team to me
Graham
3:37
are the mets for real
Steve Adams
3:39
We're anywhere from 7 to 11 games into the season, depending on how well mother nature has treated your favorite team. I'm not putting a ton of stock in any team's early records -- though the Rays' brutal start is teetering on sinking them early. At a certain point, that many early losses kind of kills you before the season even begins in earnest. Their schedule hasn't helped, of course.

Will anyone claim Jace Peterson?
Steve Adams
3:39
No one wanted to give him a 40-man spot this offseason
3:40
Possible some team in need of infield depth snags him, but I'd lean toward him clearing
Not Mike Matheny
3:40
Who do you predict to be the first manager fired?
Steve Adams
3:40
Snitker is the Braves tank (new front office may want its own guy). Maybe Bryan Price is not him.
if not him*
Nick Senzel
3:40
Where will I play when Suárez is back from injury? Shortstop? Second base? Or do I stick at third and Suárez moves to SS?
Steve Adams
3:41
Suarez wasn't a good shortstop. He is a good third baseman -- to the point where Dick Williams called him one of baseball's premier defenders at third base upon signing him to the extension. I don't know that I'd take it that far, but the fact that the organization feels that way and the fact that Senzel is playing 2B in the minors right now says Suarez isn't moving to SS
3:42
I think Senzel will probably bounce around this year and then settle in at 2B in the long run.

Rough start for Holland
Steve Adams
3:42
Not sure why they decided to give him 2 games in A-ball and then throw him right into the fire. Seemed unnecessarily hasty.

Is Archer the most overrated pitcher in the league right now?
Steve Adams
3:43
He's underrated among most fans who look solely at his ERA and say he's not that good.
Derek
3:43
What kind of contract will Andrew Miller get if he’s healthy and dominant again this year?
Steve Adams
3:44
I'll go with three years at a premium annual value, say ... $13 to $15MM?
Zach Britton
3:44
Am I traded by the trade deadline?
Steve Adams
3:44
Let's see if you're healthy first. And then let's see if you're pitching well. He was not good even when healthy last season
orioles fan
3:44
once we see Trumbo and Cobb back on the o's is it safe to say that they may content for the second wild card spot?
Steve Adams
3:45
I don't have much faith in Cashner and Tillman at the back of that rotation. I don't think they're contenders
Medic Mike
3:45
Might Cole Hammels be a trade candidate this year?
Steve Adams
3:46
I don't know who's going to give up much for a 34-year-old who's making $22MM this season and is also owed at least $6MM on the buyout for next year's option. His velocity is down 2 mph... maybe they can move him, but I don't think the return will be especially useful.

When Ellsbury, Hicks, and Frazier are all healthy, will Frazier be on the roster or still in AAA
Steve Adams
3:46
Probably AAA so he can play every day.
Mat Latos just signed with an independent league club, for those all you Latos diehards out there.

If Jamie Barria pitches good tomorrow for the Halos does he stick. Or does Bridwell get called back up.
Steve Adams
3:48
As I wrote in yesterday's post, I feel like Barria will be optioned out at some point just to buy the extra year of service. If Bridwell hadn't only just been optioned himself, I'd imagine the start would've gone to him. Wouldn't surprise me if Barria wound up making 15 or so starts in total for the Halos this year, though. They're lacking in terms of depth and have a lot of injury prone arms.

What's my trade value after blowing 2 straight saves and almost a 3rd one yesterday?
Steve Adams
3:49
Pretty much unchanged unless there's a significant velocity drop or other sign of injury. Teams aren't going to wildly change their perception of a player's value based on a couple of outings, especially in April and in such cold conditions.
3:50
(Referring to yesterday's game in Chicago -- not any home games, obviously, ha)

Seems like Giants' main offseason problem (outfield) still a problem. SSS, but Pence (.219/.250/.469) looks done. Solutions or strategies?
Steve Adams
3:51
Does "go back in time, undo the Longoria trade and add two outfielders" count as a solution? I didn't really get the Longo trade all that much at the time, and I agreed entering the season that their OF looked like a glaring deficiency.

Not sure what can be done at this point other than hope that Duggar impresses early and is ready for a look in the Majors, though the Giants themselves seem to be hyping him more than any objective assessment of their farm system does.
