But Jeffress will be eased back into things.
On a related note: not 5 seconds after I picked that question, the Brewers formally announced that JJ has been activated.

How about Mychal Givens for Michael A. Taylor?
Steve Adams
3:51
Think the O's would want someone with more team control -- probably multiple pieces, too. Generally speaking, though, the idea of MAT for a reliever makes some sense.

Yu looked better last night....still 4 walks but 8 k's and some heat. But it was the Marlins....excited or not?
Steve Adams
3:53
I wouldn't personally be excited regardless of his performance -- Tim's the Chicago native/Cubs guy -- but I think at this point any positive start is a good thing for the guy. That had to be a confidence booster for him.
Kimbrel
3:54
Of course I'm closer.  I'm a day closer to making a decision than I was yesterday.
Steve Adams
3:54
Yup

3:54
Even with Trout signing his extension, do you still get the trade Trout questions?
Steve Adams
3:54
First one I've seen in quite some time!
Big Swole
3:55
Kimbrel as an opener for the Dodgers- who says no?
Steve Adams
3:55
Kimbrel isn't signing as an opener and the Dodgers aren't paying him (though I think they should)
Gustavo
3:55
Angels pitching?!?!?!?!?! Again with the pitching woes?!?! What gives?!?!?!
Steve Adams
3:56
Time is a flat circle.
Ben
3:56
Tigers are starting to slow down alot, where do you see them fitting in the standing?
Steve Adams
3:56
At or near the bottom of the AL Central. I don't think any team in that division has a chance besides the Indians and Twins.
Jimmy Nelson
3:57
What are realistic expectations for me this year, and who do I replace?
Steve Adams
3:57
Freddy Peralta is apparently injured now
Brewers put him on the injured list with an injury to his SC joint (sternoclavicular)
John
3:57
Does bundy have any trade value left?
Steve Adams
3:58
I'm sure plenty of teams would want the chance to buy low on him, but interested parties would be hoping for an Arrieta 2.0 style bargain rather than paying any sort of premium.
His homer problems are just out of control right now.
William Eppler
3:58
Blake Swihart a target? He has to be better than Kevan Smith, right?
Steve Adams
3:59
(Billy Eppler = Angels GM)

I can certainly see them taking a look, but if I were placing bets... well, I'll just point out that a whole lot of former Red Sox players seem to make their way to Arizona, where their front office is comprised of a whole lot of former Red Sox execs.

Should I drop Iglesias for jeffries now that he's off the DL?
Steve Adams
3:59
I would not drop Raisel Iglesias

3 yrs 30 mil 2 club options at 8 mil a piece with 14 mil in incentive making it 5 yrs 60 mil smart deal for contending team
Steve Adams
4:00
Club options aren't good for players, and if Kimbrel were willing to sign 3/30, he'd have been signed months ago.

When do you see Vladimir Guerrero Jr. with the Blue Jays?
Steve Adams

Within the next 10 days

T/F - Greg Bird never plays another game for NYY.

Tim Anderson is off to a terrific start at bat and in the field. In your opinion, is he now beginning to realize his potential, or do you think that this is just an aberration?
Steve Adams
4:04
Strikeouts are down, which is nice, but he's still drawn only one walk in 54 PAs, and more than half the balls he's put into play have fallen for hits. That isn't remotely sustainable.
Still seems like a guy who's going to struggle to get on base but do so with some power/speed while playing a premium position -- enough to keep him in a starting lineup, not enough to make him a star.
Opener stat
4:05
Why don't they create a stat called an open that a player can earn by starting a game and pitching at least 1 scoreless inning?
Steve Adams
4:06
At some point, I wouldn't be surprised if someone started tracking such a thing, but that stat wouldn't carry any predictive value or really tell you anything about a pitcher's actual skill level, so I doubt teams would care about it much. (Similar to wins, losses, saves, holds, etc. at this point)

Steve, do you think there's a chance that the Braves' lowball extension of Albies ultimately backfires on them?  ATL management may believe they're big winners today, but t's not hard to see how they might end up with a very disgruntled superstar who's being paid far, far under market value in just a few years.
Steve Adams
4:07
I mean, ultimately, Albies signed the deal.
4:08
I think they should've been at least quasi-fair about it -- this is the same org that gave Simmons $58M when he was in the same service class and less established as an offensive threat -- but I don't know how much that'll truly bite them moving forward.
