Hooray for chats
Let us enjoy another, shall we?

Hang on have to reload I think
Whoa yep there we go
3:10
Chats work best when the host can actually see the questions come in, I've found
Frank
3:10
Machado to LA?
Steve Adams
3:10
I don't see why they wouldn't pursue it, and it this point the O's are just kidding themselves if they're not open to it.

I highly doubt it happens this early in the season, of course, but once we're into late June or early July, it's probably likelier.
3:11
I do wonder if we'll eventually start seeing teams buck the trend of waiting till summer for that type of trade. Though while I can imagine the Dodgers being willing to do so, the Orioles are another story.

Do you see the A's as a legit WC contender?
Steve Adams
3:13
The A's were the team I said all offseason were going to be a lot better than anyone really gave them credit for. I don't know that I buy them as a Wild Card club, because I think it'll take more than the 85 wins the Twins had last year, though.
Some of it depends, too, on how Fowler and Mateo do when they arrive on the scene

Does Cueto have Cy Young contention?
Steve Adams
3:14
I'd still take the usual suspects -- Scherzer, Kershaw, etc. -- over him, but if he's healthy again I can see him getting some votes.

Steve Adams
3:14
Mitch Haniger is V good at baseball.

Joey Bart #2 to the Giants in June?
Steve Adams
3:15
The Giants don't even know who they're taking #2 overall right now.

can the dbacks contain one if their big name free agents this winter? this being Corbin and Pollock?
Steve Adams
3:16
They already spent way more on 2018 than I thought they would, so maybe their billion dollar TV deal comes with a more immediate boost in revenue than the more gradual scale I had assumed. I'd think a new deal for Goldy would be their top priority, though.

Trade B Goodwin, Voth and a international pick for Realmuto..
Steve Adams
3:17
So you're a Nationals fan, then.
Zero chance the Marlins take that deal
Clay Buchholz
3:17
Who do I sign with?
Steve Adams
3:18
Rangers seem to be stockpiling all kinds of good-once-upon-a-time arms. Marlins are thin in SP depth though a lot better off now with Straily and Chen healthy. D-backs maybe? They lost Walker for the year, Hazen+Sawdaye were with Boston when Buchholz was drafted.

Who hits  more home runs this season, Bellinger or Judge?
Steve Adams
3:20
I'll take Judge, though I'd hardly be surprised if Bellinger proved me wrong.

Need more offense, any chance they move up Tapia/Rodgers and try to get something going? The old guys are holding them back (Cargo/Parra/Desmond)
Steve Adams
3:22
I think they should be open to just cutting bait on Parra. He's been objectively terrible in two of the three seasons of his contract (including thus far in 2018), is in the final year of his deal and is not a decidedly better option than any of the young outfielders.
Rodgers has been more good than great in Double-A when you look at the total body of his work there, and he's yet to play in AAA. I'd give him some time.
Also, I still cannot for the life of me figure out why the Rox brought CarGo back.
A's and Mariners are opening the 2019 season in Tokyo, the league announced. That's cool.
Clay
3:23
Will the return of Trumbo and Schoop get us back to being at least watchable?
Steve Adams
3:24
I don't think either one is going to take the rotation spot of Cashner or Tillman, so that's a tall order.
Mark
3:24
Who is more depressing - Marlins or Rangers
Steve Adams
3:25
Rangers had a really good run of success leading up to an almost inevitable transitional year or two where they're just sort of old.

The Marlins have just been bad for a long time, looked like their offense might suddenly be kind of good, and then had the roster gutted by new ownership without getting a great return relative to the amount of talent they traded away.
Marlins.
Twins just announced a bunch of moves
Sano to DL
Dietrich Enns DFA
Gregorio Petit contract selected
