Tyler Kinley returned to Marlins

Will the Mets look to upgrade the catcher position.
Steve Adams
3:27
Not immediately but I don't see how they're not at least in the market for a better backup this summer. And while I probably believe in Plawecki more than most Mets fans, he's got to actually perform over a decent period of time at some point if they're going to lean on him.

What do you make of Castillo's terrible start?  Velo is down and his pitches are flat.  Time to cut bait?
Steve Adams
3:28
I was all aboard the Luis Castillo hype train last year and entering this year, but the huge velo drop and garbage control have me wondering if he's hurt.
I haven't cut him in any fantasy leagues yet, but I did trade him in one and am considering a straight cut in another.

Should we consider sending Ian Desmond to the minors?
Steve Adams
3:29
Desmond would have to approve the move. They can't just option him. He has too much service time. It's designate him for assignment and eat the remaining 3.5 years of his deal or just ride it out and hope he turns it around.
Go Rays
3:29
Is Blake Snell a potential breakout candidate?
Steve Adams
3:29
He was a potential breakout candidate heading into the year.
He is now mid-breakout.

3:29
Whatever happened to Julio Urias?
Steve Adams
3:30
Shoulder surgery last June and out 12 to 16 months.
Tribe fan
3:30
When will the Indians get Josh Tomlin out of the rotation?
Steve Adams
3:30
I don't think he has more than one or two starts left unless he improves things in a hurry.
Matt Chapman
3:31
Do I finish top 3 in Gold Glove votes this year?
Steve Adams
3:31
I expect him to win it
SFG
3:31
The giants had a .500+ month for the first time in many moons, with the return of Smith, Bum, and possibly Melancon down the stretch do we have a shot at sneaking into the 2nd wild card?
Steve Adams
3:32
I still think they're the fourth-best team in their own division.
Kiermaier's Piercing Green Eyes
3:32
What does a Ramos to the Mets trade look like?
Steve Adams
3:32
The Mets eat most of his contract and send a fringe prospect or two to the Rays in return.
Bryan
3:32
Thoughts on Dustin Fowler? Tearing it up in AAA now.  Where would he play?
Steve Adams
3:33
Center field. Mark Canha should not be playing center.
Bryan
3:33
About how soon before Melky Cabrera should be ready to join the Indians?  Or will Chisenhall be the guy?
Steve Adams
3:34
I don't think Melky's any sort of answer in Cleveland. They might try him out in a couple weeks, but he was a league-average bat last season.
Tyler Moore
3:35
Where do you think Jordan Hicks can go? Is he the next Chapman?
Steve Adams
3:35
Jordan Hicks has more walks than strikeouts and has hit three batters. He's whiffed seven guys in 14.1 IP and has a 6.9 percent swinging-strike rate. The only similarity between him and Chapman is his velocity.
3:36
If he doesn't get his control together in a hurry, he won't be in the Majors in a month or two. That ERA is wholly unsustainable right now.
Billington
3:36
Is Panda the next 2 way player since he did pitch the other day?
Steve Adams
3:36
Sandoval's curveball is my favorite thing about baseball so far in 2018. I say go for it!
(They won't of course, ha, but it'd be fun)
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
3:37
What do you think of the "flamboyance" of guys like Baez and Anderson.  Do old-timers just need to get over it???
Steve Adams
3:37
More emotion and fewer cranky old white guys (and, apparently, Sal Perez) whining, please.
Steve
3:37
C.j Cron revamped in Tampa?
Steve Adams
3:38
He's still not walking at all, but I buy into the power. Might come with a .300 OBP though unless he starts taking a pitch or two.
Bryce
3:38
Would you consider Kershaw to be a great postseason pitcher?
Steve Adams
3:39
He's a great pitcher, period. We need to stop acting like pitching in October is a demonstrably different skill. If Kershaw or Scherzer or whoever had a 5.13 ERA in his career on Wednesday games, no one would say "Man the guy is good but he just can't get it done on Hump Day."

3:39
Harper says he wants to stay in Washington, True or no? Where does he really land?
Steve Adams
3:40
I'm sure all things being equal he'd love to stay in DC, yes. But if the Cubs or Phillies or Yankees or whoever top the Nats' offer by $50-100MM, then he's going to go.
3:41
David Hale back to the Yankees on a minor league deal. Apparently he's just going to shuttle between Scranton, the Bronx and Minneapolis all season.
