What's the ETA for Casey Mize?
Steve Adams
3:11
He's pretty polished and is already 21 -- I wouldn't be surprised if he's up with Detroit next summer.
Britton
3:11
Is he gonna close all year
Steve Adams
3:12
I imagine the O's will keep trotting him out there, but I can see him going to another club that uses him in a setup role.
Yo, it's me again
3:12
I am curious as to why no Giants were in your Top 50 Trade Candidates or even Honorable mentions
Steve Adams
3:13
They're within striking distance in the NL West and are generally loath to sell of veteran pieces. More just a reflection on the fact that we don't expect them to sell (at least barring a significant slide over the next month or so) than it is that they don't have anything of general appeal.

Do the Yankees try to acquire outside help at catcher?
Steve Adams
3:15
If Sanchez were out for the year maybe, but he'll be back in a month or so. Romine is hitting for the first time his career, admittedly in a minuscule sample of PAs, and they didn't get an upgrade this winter even when he was coming off a season where he was one of the 10 worst hitters in the game. If they didn't add an upgrade over him then, I doubt they will now.
Carlos Martinez

Is the Cardinals put me on the trade block what would the Yankees give up for me?
Steve Adams
3:16
The Cardinals aren't going to put Martinez out there.

Who's the first Orioles to get traded?  Machado, Britton, Brach, Jones, O'Day?
Steve Adams
3:17
I doubt the Orioles even know the answer to that question right now.

Do you think Tebow will reach the Majors this year? Mets are calling up a bunch of AA players and seem ready to tank
Steve Adams
3:18
Their season has become enough of a circus that I actually think they'll probably shamelessly promote him and try to pretend it's merit-based when it's just a clear money grab.
3:19
They'll probably try to tout that he hit well in AA or something... he's got an obscene 37.1% strikeout rate and is somehow looking respectable at the plate upon first glance because he's BABIPing .411. He should not be called up to the Majors. My guess is that he will be anyway.

What do you think the Padres do at the deadline?
Steve Adams
3:21
Trade some of their relievers -- short-term guys seem likelier than Hand to me, but maybe some team will bowl them over to get that contract. Yates and Stammen seem like pretty safe bets to go. Tyson Ross will be traded.

Has Chase Headley officially retired?
Steve Adams
3:22
Not yet, no.

Is Derek Dietrich a possible building block? Or should the Marlins sell high?
Steve Adams
3:23
He's not a good defender anywhere on the diamond, turns 29 next month and is already over four years of service. Move him to a club looking for a bat-first utility option and be happy if you land even a mid-range prospect.

Does Peralta get the most saves in KC ROS?
Steve Adams
3:25
Seems like he'll get first crack at them right now, but he's also just not very good, so who knows how long he'll hang onto the role? There'll probably be a bunch of KC relievers who get a handful of saves between now and the end of the year... it's a really, really ugly bullpen though.

Is Blake Snell really on the trade market?
Steve Adams
3:27
I doubt there's anyone the Rays wouldn't listen on whatsoever, but they're not out there pushing him on other teams. It would take a borderline unfathomable return to get the Rays to actually do it.

3:27
What's the latest on Ervin Santana? Will he pitch at all this year?
Steve Adams
3:28
Sounds like his rehab just isn't progressing well. I imagine he'll pitch at some point, but at this point if they get even 2 months out of him that might be lucky
SalemPirate
3:29
The Pirates currently are using a 4 man rotation for the outfield'; Dickerson, Marte, Polanco and Meadows. Who should go? One or more?
Steve Adams
3:29
I don't think any of them necessarily "should" go, but Dickerson's only controllable through 2019, and his value has increased since they acquired him and he just decided he wasn't going to strike out ever anymore.

Should we be concerned about MadBum?
Steve Adams
3:31
He's had one bad start since being activated, his velocity is barely below its 2017 level, and he threw 8 shutout innings in his last outing. I don't think there's much cause to be concerned.
3:32
And if you mean "should we be concerned he'll be traded?" my answer is the same ... I don't understand why some people -- mainly Yankee fans, it seems -- are fixated on him as a trade chip. The Giants rarely sell, he's controlled cheaply through next season, the team is a game over .500 and 4 out in the NL West, etc.

Am I a lock for MVP this year?
Steve Adams
3:33
No one's a lock for any award this time of year -- injuries change things in a hurry.
3:34
The favorite? Sure. Of course. But no one's a lock in June.

Have you guys reached out to current/former players to write guest pieces? Would be pretty cool.
