Steve Adams
3:10
Greetings world.
It is July.
This is both an unequivocal fact and also an indicator that trade talk/rumors/activity will all henceforth be, as they say, bumpin'.
3:11
Should be fun.
I'm going to grab a glass of water, and we shall commence this shindig.
Brooks
3:12
Where do you think Manny Machado will end up.
Steve Adams
3:13
Orioles don't even know where they're going to trade him, but I don't think the Phillies or Cubs or Brewers pull that trigger. I'd guess one of the two NL West teams linked to him -- D-backs or Dodgers.
Ben
3:13
What's more likely? Machado to the dbacks or deGrom to the yankees?
Steve Adams
3:13
Machado to AZ
Twins33
3:13
If the Twins were to trade Dozier to LA, wouldn't the Twins insist on Keibert Ruiz being included in the deal?
Steve Adams
3:14
I imagine if the Twins insisted on Keibert Ruiz being in the deal, it'd be similar to the time they insisted the Dodgers include Bellinger and whoever else they were targeting for Dozier
i.e. the trade would not happen
My name is Judge...
3:15
i saw josh donaldson linked to the cubs and just want to know how that would work
Steve Adams
3:15
I have no clue where you saw that but, in a nutshell, it wouldn't. Plus he's on the DL and shut down for another 2 weeks before he'll even be reevaluated.
Chadbro
3:15
Who is the best right handed outfielder available for trade and where do you think he ends up?
Steve Adams
3:18
That's a strangely niche question, ha. There aren't many great RH OF bats out there -- at least not many that can also play defense reasonably well. Castellanos, Adam Jones, Danny Valencia if you count him ... I don't know that Castellanos is moved at all. Guy like Valencia could help a lot of NL clubs with deficiencies against LHP. Nats, for instance.

If Machado comes to LA tomorrow, who hits the bench? Everyone is kinda hitting right now. Does Taylor just become a super utility guy?
Steve Adams
3:19
Taylor could become a super utility guy, yeah. Joc could go to the O's in a theoretical deal. Or maybe O's would even want Taylor. It's a crowded roster, for sure.
Dustin
3:19
Could Nats become sellers if things don’t turn around over the next week or two?  Could they flip Herrera after they just acquired him?!
Steve Adams
3:20
Can't see them selling. It'd be wild if they decided they were going to trade Harper three weeks from now, but I feel like with the money and resource they've invested in putting a winner out there in '18, they're going to keep adding.

3:20
Dont see donaldson being traded until he is healthy
Steve Adams
3:20
I don't really see Donaldson being traded at all at this point.
3:21
Maybe in August after he clears waivers.
AngryTCfan
3:21
Keep Berrios, Rosario, Kepler, and Escobar and fire sale on everyone else....right?
Steve Adams
3:21
Escobar is a free agent in three months. Sell him, too.
3:22
If you want him back -- resign him in December.
Hamels
3:22
Did my last start kill my value??
Steve Adams
3:23
Hamels' value isn't anywhere near where most people think it is anyway. He's really expensive and has been way too homer-prone all season.

Generally speaking, one bad outing is never going to kill someone's value. Several bad outings won't really even do it unless it's tied to injury.
3:24
Last year everyone was panicking about how the White Sox overplayed their hand with Quintana and no one was going to give up top prospects because of his ERA, and then a month later they had Eloy Jimenez.
Cash
3:24
Has Fulmer been as bad as his record for the Tigers this year?
Steve Adams
3:26
Lot of hard contact that wasn't there in 2017, but as far as win-loss record, I don't even see the point of looking at it. That's never been a good way to evaluate a pitcher, and it's 2018 -- we're swimming in stats that can actually tell us things of value.
Astros Fan
3:26
Do you see Astros targeting a Catcher like Realmuto after the McCann injury? Possibly without giving up Tucker
Steve Adams
3:27
I don't think they will. I wrote as much in that post on McCann's injury. They should be playing Stassi over McCann at this point anyway. If anything, maybe they'll snag a better backup option than FedEx closer to the deadline if it seems like McCann's going to be out longer than anticipated.
Mike Hazen
3:28
Is Duplantier, Widener and Marte enough to get Machado?
Steve Adams
3:29
I'm not sure which Marte you're referencing -- Ketel? I wouldn't do that if I were AZ, but yeah, I have to think that'd get him.
Head not Heart
3:29
Fullmer's FIP and his secondary stats are nearly identical as previous seasons. He's a sleeper. With his team control, I like him more than the Mets' SP's and most all others.
Steve Adams
3:30
His FIP might be similar, but his hard contact rate is up 10%, the average exit velo against him is up 3 mph and his control has taken a step back.
CheeseMan
3:30
What kind of cheese do you think Terry Mullholland likes?
Steve Adams
3:30
Strikes me as a gouda man.

Does my FO need overhaul? we can't seem to get SP worth a damn...what gives here?
