Do you think the Twins will look to move Correa in the offseason and give SS to Lee?
Steve Adams

They'll keep Correa at short -- trading him wouldn't be easy anyway, and he was having one of the best seasons of his career prior to this latest IL stint -- and mix Miranda, Lee, Lewis, Julien and Kirilloff between the other three infield spots and DH. Kirilloff is running out of chances thanks to all the injuries he's had.

The Twins have needed the infield depth this year. That'll presumably be the case moving forward, too.

Jakob Junis was a nice pick-up for the Reds. I believe he has a mutual option of 7 mil with a 3 mil buyout.  It seems like it would make sense for the Reds to just pay the extra 4 mil and keep him. Do you think they will?  Or do mutual options ever get triggered?
Steve Adams
2:00
I can think of exactly two mutual options that were exercised since I started working for MLBTR full-time in 2013
Aramis Ramirez and the Brewers in the final season of his career
Matt Belisle and the Rockies in the mid-2010s
2:01
I doubt the Junis option is picked up by both parties.

How often do you get questions here and wonder, "Wait... Could that actually be [insert name of GM, Manager, Player, Owner, Agent, etc.]?"
Steve Adams
2:01
Ha, almost never. I've gotten texts from some agents post-chat on occasion and had them say "Saw your comment today........." though, so who knows

How many years does Christian Walker get in free agency?
Steve Adams
2:03
I don't think he'll get to four but a nice-AAV three-year deal feels plausible, and a higher-AAV two-year deal would make sense as well.

Any chance the O's resign Santander? Old owner, no. New owner?
Steve Adams
2:06
We have no good way of knowing how David Rubenstein will/won't spend. In general, I'd be surprised if the Orioles chose to beat the field for Santander coming off a career year. The OBP and defensive questions he's had have never really abated. He can play a fine enough right field right now, but it's reasonable to expect that halfway through a free agent deal, he's a clearly below-average defender.

The O's have Cowser, Mullins, Kjerstad, possibly Mayo (infield is crowded and a move to RF feels very plausible) in the immediate OF mix with notable prospects like Dylan Beavers, Enrique Bradfield and (later) Vance Honeycutt coming down the pipeline
2:07
They could move on from Mullins this winter, but I think it's likelier they just make the QO to Santander, collect the pick, and stick largely in-house with the outfield options.

Is Yepez the everyday 1B for the Nats next year or do you see them bringing in a vet with more of a track record in to be their Opening Day 1B? He's looked good when he's played this year, but I'm not sure if they see him as a long term fix (and more of just a bench bat that can sometimes play the corner spots).
Steve Adams
2:09
He's more of a bench bat. He'll be 27 this offseason. He's looked good, certainly, but we're talking under 200 plate appearances. It's not the same situation, but there are some Joey Menses parallels here. If the Nats are intent on pushing toward contention next year, I think adding a veteran first baseman makes good sense, even if they want to keep Yepez and keep giving him an opportunity to play his way into a larger role.

Can you make more than 1 Qo? Say O,s offerbyrnes and santander
Steve Adams
2:09
A team can make as many qualifying offers as they want. A player can only receive one QO in his career.

Who are your favorite AAAA players that you wish the big-league club would just give a real chance to? Two starts or ten games in the field just doesn't seem like enough.

I feel like I've been yelling for the Cardinals to trade Ivan Herrera to a team that'll just make him its starting catcher for like four years now, haha.
