I think if anything Rodgers probably points out different things to help Jones and maybe he listens more. He commands respect with his experience and players will listen if he's showing up every day being in the trenches with them.

Hi Chris, really enjoy your chats and hope you like doing them.  I’ve heard Terry Bradshaw has been having some health issues and was hoping you might know how he is doing.  Thank you.

Thanks Maggie! I do enjoy them as well!

I don't know much about Terry but hope he's OK. He's been a fun football presence for my entire life and would hate to hear bad news about him. But as of now, I personally don't know much on his health.

Hey Chris, just wondering if the Steelers have any interest in Jaire Alexander?  Go
Christopher Carter

Hey Michael!

I don't think so. Jaire Alexander hasn't played more than 7 games in a season in back to back years. I think there would be more interest in Jalen Ramsey. But even then, they paid Darius Slay $10 million. I  doubt they do a whole lot to address that position unless a great deal presents itself.

Chris, thanks for the chats!  You be the GM.  How much are you paying TJ per year and for how long?  If it were me I would offer $35M per year, 2 year extension.  Nothing guaranteed beyond that.  That keeps him under contract for 3 years.  If not, I think they need to play a little hardball. He is under contract for this year and they have the franchise tag option for next year.  They can just play a wait-and-see game.  He may refuse to play, but that’s a lot of money to give up on his side.

I'm paying TJ Watt $41M on average over 3 years with low guaranteed money going into the third season to give yourself space to renegotiate if possible. I think he has more left in the tank and that rate is not as high as people think with today's salary cap.

Good morning.  What chances would you give that Rodgers will be named as a team captain?  Thanks Chris!
Christopher Carter

Good morning! I think he'll be the captain of the offense. If for no other reason, Freiermuth is the only established veteran on that side of the ball. But I still think Heyward is the overall *team* captain.

So, Tomlin's record of only 4 years out of 21 in which they won any playoff games(correct me if I'm wrong) is acceptable to you?
Christopher Carter

As I've pointed out before, there at least five other NFL head coaches who are in the Hall of Fame with that many years advancing in the playoffs or less. Among them are Dick Vermeil, George Allen, Tom Flores, Don Coryell, etc. And there might be more. I don't think that's as unacceptable of a thing as people make it out to be.

Greetings CC. Any word on the Steelers looking to make a trade with GB for one of their WRs?  If so, which one do you think they would be ok with trading?  Personally, I want Wicks as Watson and Doubs have huge injury concerns, and I don't see them parting with Reed. They have a crowded WR room with two rookie WRs.  I think they could get Wicks for a 5th rounder if not, then bump it up to a 4th.  I do know that Smith's offensive scheme makes the #2 WR an afterthought but with Rodgers, he's always had a decent #2 (Donald Driver and Jordy Nelson come to mind).

From what I've been informed, Omar Khan has done a survey of teams across the NFL about which receivers might be available and estimated cost to make such a move. I wouldn't be shocked that the Steelers make a move, but I don't think they're locked in on any specific team or player. They want to see if any team might get more desperate in camp.

Alright everyone, I've got to head out for minicamp practice but it was great chatting! Stay tuned for today's coverage!
