I'm with you!

Everyone's looking at the shiny new free agents, but the key to me is controlling the line of scrimmage. I know, it's old and not a modern way to look at it, but I do think that's what will make this team fly or fail.

Good afternoon Chris what do you think about the Trade i liked it i will miss Minkah playing in the black and Gold. Does Omar make any other moves before Training camp GO STEELERS

Good afternoon! I think the trade will help the Steelers address the short passing game more, and I do think Omar Khan makes multiple moves--but some of them may come during camp.

Hi Chris, I liked your analysis of the PFF stats today. Is there a "money ball" aspect to the Mikah trade--a sort of measured "bang for your cap space dollar" that is also being weighed.

Thanks! I always try to analyze things and am excited to be able to focus on one team with my kind of work for the first time. I do think there's a moneyball aspect in as much as they just see the bigger money in their secondary needing to be at CB and not safety.

Chris, I believe the addition of Ramsey tells us the Steelers are going to be playing a lot of nickel a whole lot of nickel. So the question is what is the front six line up.....4-2, 2-4 or 3-3? Would appreciate your insights.

Agreed on nickel. I also think they're going to rotate those fronts A LOT. I think you'll see more 2-4 than anything else, but only marginally so. I wouldn't be shocked to see some 3-3 fronts.

Hi Chris,  Do you know the "real" reason Ramsey and Smith fell out of favor with the Dolphins? They wanted more money?
Christopher Carter

From what I understand, he didn't like how he was being used there. They were a top 10 defense last season, but ranked 22 the year before with Ramsey. It's possible he wanted a more defensive-oriented team. Can't say for sure though.

Could the Steelers play one of herbig Holcomb or Payton Wilson at strong safety and put eliot at fs and slay in the slot? Seems to be the easiest way to get your playmakers on the field

No.

Sorry, just don't think either of those guys are a strong safety. Let them play linebacker and find a proper free safety.

I just got the shoulder tap from my editor that I have to close this chat. Thanks to everyone for joining! I'm on vacation the next couple weeks so this will be my last one for a while. But stay tuned for my Ramsey film study to come out tomorrow!
