His routes were more lateral and quick shots to get loose. Less the deep ones. At least from what I remember.

Is there a possibility the Steelers trade for Jaxson Dart? Would you do that deal?

Don't think either team would be interested there. Giants like him, Steelers weren't high on him. Personally, I'm not either. He has gusto and all that, but I just don't see him as a franchise guy. A lot of empty stats.

The last time the fans ran a coach out of Pittsburgh was Jamie Dixon...perhaps a cautionary tell.

Getting rid of a good coach isn't the answer to fixing other problems. It's just a philosophy I've had. It's why I've never called for Pat Narduzzi to be fired, even when I covered a 3-9 team or last year's team that lost 6 straight. He's not the problem. Pitt has a chance at its third 9-win season in the last five years. I believe that's as many as they'd had in the 30 years before that.

I'd say the same thing about Dan Fisher right now. Just because it's a fifth straight final four loss doesn't mean he's the problem.

Chris, I know many fans and new members want Art to move on from Tomlin and do not like that we have had 18 years without a losing season.  But there is no guarantee we won’t start a string of non winning seasons and changing HC every few years.  Note Art did not hire any of the last three coaches so may not have the same success as is dad, maybe more like his grandfather.  Folks need to be careful what they ask for.

Finishing with this.

It would be one thing if the Steelers did what the Penguins did -- three straight non-playoff appearing losing seasons -- but I think it's part of what's made the Steelers who they are, especially in the last 30 years.

The Rooneys stuck by Cowher because he didn't let teams completely fall apart and the locker room still believed in him. Had they done that, the 2000s doesn't happen. I think it's the same thing this time around.
