Yes, Wilson I think takes that role. He has 4.3 speed and it's time to put that to use.

Good morning Chris.  It seems the current qb draft class hasn’t lived up to its’ expectations. Do you see the Steelers possibly trading up in the draft to take another position other than quarterback and drafting a qb in the second round?  Thanks Chris.

Good afternoon! I think they trade up this year, because it's very unlikely they keep all 12 projected picks and just draft with them. There wouldn't be space on the roster to keep them.

So, I expect some trade-ups. Not necessarily for QB, but for either a stud WR or defender. It's a good class to pick in the top 15 in my opinion. But I also think they could trade up for two first round picks, or two second round picks.

Unless Dante Moore AND Ty Simspon come out WITH Fernando Mendoza, I see that being the plan for the Steelers.

So it looks like you are not getting the day off after Christmas which I guess benefits those of us that look forward to these chats. Do you think Cam Hayward has done enough to earn first ballot HOF?

Yes. Like me, he doesn't take days off. That guy is going in the HOF, no questions asked. Now, could he wait a year? Maybe. Those can be tough. But there's no doubt he's one of the best interior defensive linemen of his era. And if he adds a 5th first team all-pro this year, that'll be even more than Joe Greene.

Hi CC:  My kids are enamored with Darnell Washington.  I’ve shown them highlights of Eric Green and explained that although Mount Washington is really fun to watch, he is not nearly as talented or the offensive weapon that Eric Green was.   What are your thoughts of the similarities and differences between the two giant Steeler tight ends?

Eric Green was in the very young days of my watching, but from what I remember I thought he was a better pure receiving threat.

Darnell Washington is a force as a blocker and is polishing his receiving game each year. I think he's a bigger threat as he develops, but both are/were impressive athletes.

What changed to allow the Steelers to play reasonable defense without TJ Watt for the first time in years?

It's this youth movement I broke down this week on Carter's Critiques. Derrick Harmon, Keeanu Benton, Yahya Black, (when healthy) Nick Herbig, and now Jack Sayer too have all been a big help to fill in other spots up front. Also, Alex Highsmith is playing at a very high level, arguably the best any player has across from Watt.

Not to mention, Cam Heyward is still Cam Heyward, and the offense is just outside of the top 10 in scoring.

Chris, I know we clinch the division with a Baltimore loss.  My question:  does anything we do affect our post-season seed and/or home field?

Technically the Steelers could claim the 3-seed if they win out and the Jaguars lose out. Jaguars have the Colts and Titans though, so hard to see that happening.

Outside of that, the rest is up to who the Steelers might face. What might be most interesting are the upcoming matchups of the Chargers/Texans this week, Chargers/Broncos next week and Bills/Eagles this week.

I think a favorable path for the Steelers would be Chargers in the first round to make the west coast team come to a cold Pittsburgh, and then going on the road to a Broncos team that I think would be a good matchup for the Steelers or a Patriots team they've already beaten.

Alright everyone, went over my time so I've got to call it. Stay tuned for post-practice report today from Brian Batko and for our team's work in Cleveland covering the game.
