Bob Nutting finally increased payroll and improved the team - and vitriol towards him seems strangely muted. Do you think he finally gets it and will do more to keep improving the team until the playoffs become an expectation?

It's been hard not to notice. The Pirates spent some money and are trying and fans are going into this season with more optimism than they have in awhile. Can't say whether this'll be something that lasts — that's something only Bob Nutting can answer — but there is certainly a different feel because of what the Pirates did this offseason.

4 games to go, are we going to see the OD lineup on the field prior to Thursday?
Colin Beazley

I think we've seen most of it at some point, especially given tonight is the last away game. But not sure which lineup (with Griffin, without Griffin, with Triolo, without Triolo) it will be.

Skenes appeared particularly irritated when he spoke to the media yesterday. Was losing the WBC the reason or something deeper?

Skenes generally doesn't treat his media scrums as an open mic comedy hour. It did seem like he was still rueing the World Baseball Classic loss.

Colin, I know he hasn't played much the last 2 years, but what is Endy's defensive outlook behind the plate?

He's looked alright this spring, but the Pirates are being very careful with him. They still see him as a catcher, but it remains to be seen whether his elbow will hold up and if he can still be the catcher he once was.

Convince me to care about a preseason tournament where the top American pitched left in the middle of it to go back to spring training and to prepare for the season and team Italy is made of up fake Italians and the top US reliever can only be used in save situations. It's a joke of a tournament.

I'll end with this one, both because it's 1:00 and it's the final question in my queue. Did you watch the WBC? Were you there? It was awesome. Meaningful baseball at a time when no other meaningful baseball was going on. Extremely passionate fans. Real emotion from the players. This meant something to them and was awesome to watch.

Does it have issues? Yes. Pitch counts hamper the tournament, as do teams making pitchers unavailable. But as someone who watched the World Baseball Classic from Miami, it was an unbelievably special event. I can't wait for the next one.

That'll do it for this week, thanks for all the questions. Next week we'll do this again from New York. Regular season baseball will have been played! I will talk to yinz then.
